Neil Gaiman Have any of you ever read anything by Neil Gaiman. I've read American Gods and thought it was amazing and I have always been meaning to try reading another one of his novels. Any good suggestions?

Re: Neil Gaiman Not read any of his novels - but I have read a lot of his graphic novel/comic work: Black Orchid, Books of Magic, Sandman, and others. I have no idea how his novel writing is - it's a completely different media to graphical storytelling - but works like Sandman were pretty superb when it was good. And Black Orchid is an excellent stand-alone graphic novel, with superb artwork by Dave McKean.

Re: Neil Gaiman Wasn't Neil Gaiman the screenwriter for the English translation of Mononoke Hime (Princess Mononoke). I know of Sandman but have never read it, other than that I'm not really that familiar with him.

Re: Neil Gaiman He co-authored Good Omens with Terry Pratchett. I haven't read anything else by him but this book has a lot of Pratchett's flavor so it is hard to tell where his influence lay. It's an enjoyable light read, if you go for that kind of thing. One of the things I really liked about it (other than the obvious humor over the Four Horsemen) was that they snuck in some serious thoughts where you completely missed that they were making a social comment - until later.

Re: Neil Gaiman I have never read this author nor have I heard of him until I saw his name added to my favorite forum. Judging by his bibliog, which itself seems to have the depth of a good a novel, I will definetly have to give his work a go soon as I can! Rahl PS: Maybe the Bibilography should be a sticky post? Just a thought I had....

Re: Neil Gaiman I've read, in this order, American Gods, Neverwhere, then Good Omens. I've been amazed at his propensity for sucking all the life out of his characters and environment. Even Terry Pratchett. Intriguing, but dry. Oh, so very dry. *newbie ducks*
