Lightbulb Idea spoiler. DO NOT READ if you don't want to be spoiled for my next story.

Well, I'll tell you my idea now. A Romulan spy has hacked into the Federation database containing mission information, the identities of all undercover agents, etc. Two members from the Enterprise (I haven't decided who yet, but I think one will be Data, and the other possibly Troi or else a new character, are undercover as Romulans. Given Troi's previous experience, Starfleet would be likely to assign her such a role if the opportunity came up again. I think that was one of the eps where Marina Siritis (SP?) actually did pretty good as an actress.

The Fleet Admiral has decided to mount a recovery operation, and since the identities of everyone have been compromised, he needs someone to go in, rescue the Enterprise crew (since they cannot maintain Federation contact without arousing suspicion), and retrieve the data, if possible.

A Q would be the perfect undercover agent (if he/she were willing!)

Any thoughts? I started writing this over the weekend at the Starfleet Region 6 Summit in my notebook.

Shameless plug...

Starfleet, for those who aren't aware, is a large fan organization. We call our clubs shuttles and ships (based on size) and have ranks that you gain by doing various things - showing up for meetings, donating coupons to the Overseas Coupons Project and doing other community service things like that. It's inexpensive to join, and there are branches in most US states and some Canadian provinces. I think there is even one in Australia and a couple in Europe. You can always start a shuttle if there are no clubs in your area.

The web site is www.sfi.org for those who are interested.

Ok, end of shameless plug.
