| I both liked and disliked Wesley. It wasn't really a love to hate kind of thing. More that sometimes I liked his character and how he was written and sometimes he was just plain annoying. I agree there was a certain sliminess to him at times, don't really know why but that's the word to describe it. I loved "The Game," it's one of my favorite eppys. (Must have something to do with Ashley Judd being in it!) It wasn't just Wes who saved the day, Robin was also instrumental. It was good to see Wes have a normal interaction with someone. I thought it was fun even if it did strain credulity a bit that they were analyzing neurotransmitters! I also liked his last episode heading off with the Traveller. I thought the whole premise of the show was terrific and actually found it very realistic that Wesley finally started to rebel against his "perfect" life. I could accept that he felt he was destined for something completely different that he could barely begin to understand. Plus I loved the culture on that planet. Don't know if this is spoilerish for the movie: S P O I L E R But isn't Wesley supposed to be in the upcoming movie? It'll be interesting to find out what has happened to him and where he's been all these years. Did he become a Traveller?????? I liked Beverly but agree she was often too perfect, always having the answer and solution. Actually that's a major problem for TNG. Always having a "happy ending." I do think her character was too shallowly written at times. Only rarely did she get to shine, like in "Sub Rosa" and some later eppys. I'll end Wesley essay now. ![]() :star: |

| I'm afraid I wasn't keen on the Wesley character, I thought he was somewhat annoying and a distraction. I really think he was only there to bring in the younger viewers and this was a mistake, as the character probably had the opposite effect on older viewers. But he was a bit more bearable in the last few episodes he appeared in. ![]() |

| He annoyed me in the early episodes but had great character growth eventually ... It was just bad writing in my opinion. After he "left" it annoyed me that whenever he came back he was then constantly made to be an angry young cadet with a permi-frown And that whole last episode with the traveller/ resigning/freezing events (down on the planet) was a load of ****! don't even get me started on that!... ![]() |

| Wesley wasn't in 'Nemesis' in the end, he got cut out because it overan. Really, that was the only reason, Rick Berman phoned Wil Wheaton up especially to tell him why. I don't have the DVD but I expect that the scene is still on that. I'd like to see those deleted scenes as they all sound good. I do have some additions to my earlier list though: Quote:
He realises what is happening with the nanites in 'Evolution' He rescues his mother from the warp field in 'Remember Me' And he save Captain Picard in 'Final Mission'. I have nothing personal against Wil Wheaton's portrayal of Wesley Crusher, but for one teenager to be responsible for all that, when he is among some of Starfleet's greatest minds on a flagship of the fleet, is simply beyond reason. | |
