Oh, this movie is definitely a "girl movie" Not one of those sappy, someone dies of something icky with a two hour long death scene, either!

What else can you call a movie that has two men, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan, with such Gorgeous Voices talking together? Sent goosepimples up and down my spine!

Then, there was Wolverine. I went to see this movie with a married couple who are friends of mine. She knew next to nothing of the X-Men, but when Wolvie first popped his claws, and that slither of metal sound...oooo. Visceral. Right to my toes. She gave her hubby a Look Seriously made me wish I had a hubby, too!

The women were strong and could hold their own, required only their fair share of saving, kicked butt at the appropriate times (okay, Storm's dialogue was a little lame, but this is not a perfect world).

I just love watching and rewatching this movie

I agree that part was good, but I like the part best in X-Men 2 when Jean holds back that wall of water. Wolverine I guess is impressive, but he's one of the lower levels. That's because I've studied all the different powers and know what they do. Another part I like is in X-Men 2 when Pyro starts taking out the police with his fire at Iceman's house.

Well Red Queen I never really thought of X-Men that way but your right!!!!! I love all the X Men movies for those very reasons. Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is purrrrrrrfect. Very few could resist Patrick Stewart's articulate voice.

What's there to study?

It's very obvious what the effects of the speial abilities are. Any idiot can tell.

Probably most of them are. Some capabilities are somewhat harder like for example molecule level telekinessis. I've heard that Gean's power is potentially limitless. Why? Because she can control the atoms. Also telepathy is slightly hard as well. Charle's doesn't just control the mind. He can remove memories and install new ones as well. He can also project illusions. I've seen the mutant profiles of all the mutants used in X-Men 1-3.

Actually, manipulating memories and projecting illusions is controlling the mind (brain).

actually (gebus i hate that word in these posts), projecting illusions is manipulating the mind - not directly controlling it.. There is a considerable difference between Controlling and Manipulating. Controlling someone is forcing them to do what you want. Manipulating them they do what they want with the circumstances you present them with - granted they may do exactly what you want, but they could still completely do the opposite.
