If you don't mind stretching it over 8 volumes, then Kage Baker's series of "Company" novels might fill the bill. The cyborg Mendoza is in love with three incarnations of the same person, sometimes all at the same time. The series is a great read with or without the romance, but it does represent a major plot point. See the author's posthumous web site:
