Hello Everyone

Hmm,

Well I think I should have said hello before I posted, but I guess I will say it now. Hi everyone, I've looked around and it seems that a lot of you are old...or let me rephrase that, older then me. I am only 16 but hey people say I act mature for my age.

I dunno I read fantasy of course and I am interested in history though I will have to wait next year to learn Ancient Civilizations. I also write but I started only about two weeks ago and things seem to be coming along nicely. Oh and thanks to those who have already posted suggestions for the improvement of my story. I am continously writing an am at chapter 5, those who want to read it just pm me and ill send what I have over...It feels great when someone edits my stuff, whether they are bad comments or good but hey it's up to you guys

See yah around,

Re: Hello Everyone

Welcome, Tonic, from an old man (all of 26)! *Hobbles way leaning on his walker*

Keep at the writing, and I'm glad you've found our feedback useful!

Re: Hello Everyone

Hello Tonic! I thought it's about time I started saying hello to the new members, even though it feels like I haven't been around that long myself. Time goes by much faster when your old. I'm not quite as much of a dinosaur as knivesout. I still have a couple of years until I'm walker worthy.

I'm glad you like to post your writing. I love to read other members work. That's one of my favorite parts of this forum.

Re: Hello Everyone

Hi tonic, and an official welcome to the chronicles-network.

As for reading ancient history - pah! you don't need to wait! Check out those bookstores that sell off surplus publishing stock cheaply. We've got a couple here in Hull so I figure they can't be rare. My first exploration of the ancient world was spent in these bookshops, spending £5-10 a time on big glossy photograph-rich volumes on the ancient world. After those I was able to chase down specific periods and authors that I thought would interest myself most. So what are you waiting for?

Just in case you're interested, I posted some specific book recommendations for researching the ancient world in this thread:

Re: Hello Everyone

Hi tonic . I'm kinda new here too. If knivesout needs a walker, then I need to be pushed around in a wheel chair !

Re: Hello Everyone

Hiya Tonic! Welcome to the forums. If knivesout is using a walker then I must be bed-ridden and on life support! I feel that way sometimes too! My latest birthday was a milestone I would have preferred to delay...alas, time waits for no woman...

As far as writing goes, the more critiques you get, the more your writing will improve. I believe LittleMiss has posted some guidelines now for critiques from and for our members here so make sure to take a peek at those as well. Also, reading others' works and noting the things you like and don't and need more info on will help you as well as the author - so don't hesitate to put in your two cents.
