I think everyone prefers SW, shoulda been a poll in this thread.

But c'mon, the latest SW ep had (to put it politely) bad SFX. You'd have thought they'd do better in this day and age of computer generated animation! Compare it something like the Matrix, or Stargate (either movie or series) has better FX.

I'M SHOCKED!!

admittedly i only ever watched one star wars movies, last year, when there was a huge fuss over it. But i never wanted to go back and watch the rest (I watched Lair Lair instead). Now this is very strange for me because I really like sci-fi. So i concluded that SWs just couldn't be good scifi.

It does look like I'm in the minority though! Oh well!

And Kelsi, just for you I'll change it into a poll (if i can still do that?). Come guys star trek fans....don't let me down!

I like both Star Wars and Star Trek and I find these Star Trek versus Star Wars arguments boring. I'm glad there is so much SciFi around these days.

However, in the Star Trek universe there is about 600+ hours of television and a 10th movie being made, plus the animated series and books. In Star Wars they are only making the 5th movie. (There are a lot of books as well though.) The Star Trek universe is much more detailed and fleshed out, and it is our future, not a Galaxy Far Far away.

(Ok- that does cause some problems with things like the Eugenic Wars of the 1990's, but wait until Star Wars is 35 years old and see how it holds up)

While we are on the subject, I hate the fact that X-Wings fly through space like they are in an atmosphere, for god's sake, if Vader is coming up from behind you, just turn your ship around, it'll still go forward.

Star Wars is only popular because it appeals to the mainstream. The reason why Star Wars is more popular is that Star Trek overuses technobabble.
