| Re: Football (american football to those across the pond!) I like the coaches that are aggressive on 4th down. I remember seeing this statistical analysis study about going for it on 4th down and it said teams should be trying much more often. I've always thought conservative play can kill a team as much as aggressiveness can (learned during the Holmgren years). And when they do go for it they ought to keep the defense spread out instead of these tight one-dimensional formations which don't fool anyone. The Falcons made this mistake today when they did this bizarre line shift and Ryan took the snap from the right guard and tried to sneak it but was stopped short. What is Michael Turner there for if not to pick up an important yard when you really need it? |
