In case anyone hasn't heard the SciFi channel has announced there will be a new B5 TV movie. The title of the movie is suppose to be "To Live and Die in Starlight" and they are set to begin production in May.

This movie is also suppose to be the pilot for a possible new B5 series. The series is suppose to be about the Rangers.
The movie and series is suppose to be under the heading Babylon 5: The Legend of the Rangers.

According to JMS it is set in the B5 universe 3 years after "Objects at Rest". There is suppose to be one main character from the B5 universe in the script (a fan favorite).

So now comes the waiting to see what it is like.

:flash: That sounds really cool. :laugh2:
But I'd like to see an ending to the Crusade show too. I started getting into that and it was taken off the air without an ending.
Does anyone know if there were books written that gave that show some closure? :star:

I agree that an ending to Crusade would be nice.

Don't know of any books that end it. There is a trilogy about the Centari and I know that there is a trilogy on the technomages that is being written. The Centari one does mention in passing (very briefly) about the success of the mission but no details.

I figured that the Crusade mission was sucessful, because of the Babylon 5 series or movies or something I saw that put everyone back on earth. I'd just love to have details... :disturbed
I also heard of the tecnomage series of books. I might have to pick those up.

Crusade was set after the time of the last B5 movie "A call to arms" so nothing in B5 series could be relevant to it. Hopefully this new movie and the show it leads into will be able to tie it up with a cure for humans...

yeah I knew what that movie was about.
But the last episode of B5-the one where Sheridon dies- shows Ivoniva on earth. It's supposed to take place 20 years after the B5 series ended. Ivoniva comes to Sheridons funeral, on Membar. That's where I got the idea that the plague was cured.

yeah thats a good point I'd forgotten about that episode.. didn't think much of it as a way to end the show either...

Guess it does kinda give the impression that a cure is found, or at least an immunisation for those who were offworld at the time to allow them to go back on to earth...

The new movie/possible series is suppose to be set three years after the episode "Objects at Rest".
If you read any of the B5 books which are approved by JMS yes they did find a cure for the plague. No specifics are given however. Franklin was on earth when the plague hit and also in the episode set 20 years later.
The idea of the last episode was to wrap up the Sheridan arc of the story since we knew he had only the 20 years. It left a lot of story inbetween however which I would love to see, such as more about the telepath war.

You know your right. When compared to Star Trek(which I also love), it's got so much more. Religious groups, poverty, crime, politics, and I'm sure there's more but I can't think of them. I wish they would have more movies or better yet a new series. :smiliea:

There is a real possibility of a new series, this movie is to be the pilot for it. Hopefully it will all pan out because life hasn't been the same since no new B5 or Crusade episodes.

Everyone seems to forget that 'Sleeping in the light" was the official end for S4 until S5 was approved..thats why Ivanova was in it.

I now that is why Ivonava was in 'Sleeping in the Light" . It wouldn't have been the same without her. She was such an important part of the first 4 seasons and I would love to see her in some guest shots at some time in the B5 universe.

It was a pity she never made it to S5 she was one of the best...I would have loved to see her go toe to toe with Lockley...You know it would have happened.
