If Ivanova had stayed she would have been the new commander of Babylon 5 which would have changed the whole dynamics of season 5. Of course the idea of her and Lockley butting heads would have been interesting. I would hate to have to choose sides in that one. I think it would have been a pretty even match. Ivanova might have an edge with knowing B5 better.

JMS planned to promote Ivanova to Captain and put her in command of B5. The actress however left the show and so he brought in Captain Lockley instead. Still it would be nice to see Ivanova again. She is Captaining a ship now and so have her stop at B5 for shore leave or something. That could make for some interesting scenarios. Have something happen and her and Lockley going at it.

Ah yes, the movie, it is suppose to air this fall on the SciFi channel here in the US. The title of the telemovie is "To Live and Die in Starlight". It is suppose to lead into a spin-off show Babylon 5: The Legend of the Rangers. It is suppose to take place just under 3 years after the events in "Objects at Rest". So it will be set late in 2265 what would have been B5's 8th season if they had had one. A good site to check out for more info on the movie/series is www.b5rl.com I also posted a thread which lists the characters and cast for the movie/series. From what I have heard we are suppose to see more G'Kar as well.

Also during the reruns of Dune on the SciFi channel they are going to make a special announcement and direct viewers to a "top secret web page". This is suppose to contain footage of G'Kar and David Martel. The reruns of Dune on the US SciFi Channel take place June 12, 13, and 14 at 9PM ET/PT

If I find out I will let you now. Wasn't planning on watching Dune but now I will have to tape it and then try to find this announcement. No cable that's to bad. When I grew up we only got 2 channels, there still isn't cable out where I live but about 4 or 5 years ago I bought a satellite dish. Didn't know what to do at first with all those channels.

I guess I date myself. To me, 'Dune' was a short story that got 'way outta hand back in the 60's when Frank Herbert was regularly getting himself thrown out of the Shakey's Pizza Parlor in the University District of Seattle, WA for getting drunk on beer, standing on the tables and making lewd comments about the staff while the rest of us made side bets on how long it would take Seattle PD to get there 'This' time. I was a bit underage [around 15-16-ish] for the group I was a part of - "The Nameless Ones", an old and well established SF group in the Puget Sound area but that never seemed to slow any of us down. Other members of the Nameless that went on to some sort of fame were writer's Vonda McIntyre, Mildred Broxon [who co-wrote with Poul Anderson], F.M. Busby [bless the Dirty Old Man that he was and still is] and a couple of others who's names escape this old brain. Ah... those were the 'Good Old Days' of fandom [late '50's - early 70's]. When fen were fen unless they were femfen, 'zines were either 4-color press or mimeos that were full of LoC's [Letters of Comment] about various books new in print [and you spent so much time fixing typos with corflu [correction fluid] you had a hangover the next day] and a good filk sing would last for three days running. <sigh> Like I said. The Good Old Days. How I do miss them. And watching Frank fall off of pizza tables.
