Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back (1980) 125 Minutes. http://uk.imdb.com/Title?0080684 A much darker sequel. It is many fans favourite, and probably mine too. It has a much more adult, tighter storyline, more character development, and sets it up nicely for the last in the trilogy. The will they, won't they, can they, should they - between Leia, Han and Luke is good. Leia (as Han is about to be frozen and die for all we know) : I love you! Han: I know! That and the scene in 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' when you expect Indiana to use his whip, but he shoots him with a gun, are the best things George Lucas has written.

Yep, gotta agree with you there. Is that the one with the whole confrontation thing with Darth Vader and his son? What was the Empire actually striking back at?

| It was the darkest of the series. It had great machines with the Walkers and that seek & destroy probe-thing at the start. Quote:

That's how I always saw it Dave. A New Hope refers to the rebels having a prayer in the world at defeating the empire. The Empire Strikes Back refers to the empire getting the upper hand after their deathstar got scoobied. Return of the Jedi refers to a new Jedi fighting against the empire after they were all but slaughtered in the mysterious clone wars... or, at least, that's how I see it.

You know that in the scene where Han is about to be frozen and he says "I know!" that that line can partially be attributed to Harrison, supposedly? They'd been shooting that scene all day and Han was supposed to say "I love you too" but finally Harrison said "I know" as he got somewhat fed up with it. George just decided to keep it.That's the story anyway. *shrug*

Ah I really loved this movie - I think it was the first Star Wars movie I saw at the cinema. Fond memories.... Although, it was on tv recently and I realised I had forgotten the scene near the beginning where Leia is trying to make Han jealous - she kisses Luke! EEeewwwww! He's your brother, woman! Surely if George Lucas reall had thought up the plotlines for all these movies at the very beginning, he would have avoided the hinted-at incest. Love the story about Ford and the "I know" line.
