The Starships are as important as the actors, each symbolises the era of Star Trek it represents. Which is your favourite ship? And why?

Oh No! Peachy, you voted for the wrong ship!

If you wanted the original Enterprise you should have voted 'USS Enterprise (No A, No B, No ******D)' - that's what Scotty said about it in 'Relics'- maybe I didn't make it very clear - if so I can change it.
The Enterprise A is the one they get at the end of 'The Voyage Home'. The original being self-destructed at the Genesis planet in 'The Search for Spock'. It is the same class of ship - Constitution - though.

Why do I like the 'Defiant'?

The Defiant is not a ship of exploration. She is a true Warship built to fight the Borg, but instead used to patrol up front against the Dominion. She was probably overloaded with firepower and engines, but she was a highly functional battleship with a tight crew housed in minimalist quarters, the stoutest line of defence Starfleet could have asked for.

I liked the episode 'Flashback' when they did the after 'The Undiscovered Country' thing with Sulu and the Excelsior.

There is a big section of fans who keep pressing for Sulu and the Excelsior to have his own series. They wanted Series Five to be this in fact. I think it's a great idea, but I still like the Defiant better as a ship!

hehe---not to mention that "The Defiant" is a great name for a ship!

I have to admit, I'm a little partial to the Enterprise(s) commanded by Picard.

I agree.. it would be a great series... But i think Sulu would be slightly older now that when the Undiscovered Country was made...

Not if it were set about 10-20 years after 'The Undiscovered Country' and pre-Next Generation. That is the idea. There is a series of books based on that assumption, but I haven't read many Star Trek fiction books so I don't know the plots.
