Reuniting Highlander Conner McLeod with his younger Kinsman Duncan (TV's Highlander) one last time, they must join forces to defeat the powerful Kell. http://us.imdb.com/Title?0144964 I havent seen this yet, and I will not be doing so until I can get chance to see the rest of the TV series it follows on from... Not brilliant from what I've heard, but an inevitable "passing of the Highlander reigns" from Lambert to Paul, possibly with more films to follow...

I haven't seen it either. Waiting for it to come out on DVD. ![]() There was a BIG controversy going before the filming of this one as to who was going to bite the big one. The Connor fans, of course, wanted it to be Duncan and the Duncan fans, wanted it to be Conner. Christophe said that it didn't really matter to him until he heard about all of the support for Connor from his fans. If they do make more movies after this one, I'll probably not watch them. I'm a Lambert fan and that is why I watched them in the first place -- even #2. ![]() Cheers,

Well I watched Endgame over the weekend and I will say that as much as I went into it not knowing how I'd like it, it wasn't at all what I expected it to be. It's definitely worth watching. There are some very interesting things on the DVD version that I've got and I don't know if they are on all the DVD versions or only the one you get from the Highlander official site. It did come with a certificate of authenticity and it is numbered. It's two disks. The first one has the movie on it and a couple of other extra things on it. As most are doing there is a soundtrack with the producers and director speaking about the movie if you want to listen to it while you're watching. They do say some interesting things about the movie and the characters. The second disk has an hour long featurette with the director and actors discussing the movie and their characters. There is also a feature on the special effects with the those people. They show from beginning to end the process of adding in all the special effects like the lightening strikes for the quickening scenes that is interesting. They also showed how they duplicated the castle from the original movie since they couldn't use it for this one. Also on the second disk is a first cut of the movie. I haven't watched that yet, but it looks interesting. There is some stuff for DVD-ROM but since I don't have one I'm lost there, but there is also a game to play on the TV that one can do. Haven't done that yet either. From listening to all the people talk about the movie it does seem as if there were some changes done for this DVD version of the movie. Most of them special effects that were added in or smoothed over. Most of the movie was shot in Romania and I think most would be hard pressed to notice that it wasn't London. Now onto the movie (I'm going to try to make this as vague as possible without giving too much away): [SPOILER] As Adrian Paul indicated this movie was more about redemption and was character driven rather than action driven. Although the action sequences are very well done and for those that like the movies because of the sword fights, you won't be disappointed. There is a lot of East/West blending in the movie between the sword fighting and martial arts. Both characters, Connor and Duncan, have something in their pasts that have been haunting them. Connor's particular haunt has been going on almost from the beginning of his immortality and gives a lot of insight into why his character is more moody than Duncan's. Duncan's haunt hasn't been affecting him as long, probably 200 years or so, and in some ways isn't seen in his character as much as Connor's. Which is worse is something each person who views the movie will have to decide for themselves. Because of this it does give a very reasonable 'reason' for Connor to sacrifice himself to Duncan and it makes his death in the movie less of a shock. In fact it does make it almost a needed release for Connor. The producers went to great lengths to blend both the original movie with the TV series. They brought back Rachel and a couple of sets from the original (although they had to remake them using CGI or rebuilding the sets entirely). The Watchers are there along with Joe Dawson and Methos from the TV series. This wasn't a "There Can Be Only One" type of movie. The Game is still going on by the end of this movie. Methos is alive and well at the end leaving it open for more movies if they want. One of the things mentioned was that they are saying that this takes place in 2002 so that they can even use Connor if whatever they use him for takes place before that time. So ... Anyway that's all I'm going to say now because I think I've rambled enough here. Cheers,

Highlander: Endgame - saw this the night is opened in the US - 1 Sept 2000 - and was highly disappointed -- 1st - you don't have to see the entire HL: series to understand the movie, as they totally ignored the canon of the series anyway - 2nd - this was a bad movie -- (mostly b/c i'm not a Duncan fan - at all - i don't like him - he's too boyscout for me) -- and they didn't use certain characters to their full potential -- Methos and Joe seemed to just be thrown in to make the scenes mesh - most highlander fans that i've talked to hate this movie - (then again, most of the highlander fans i've talked to are HUGE Methos fans, so we're probably skewed just a little )(i'll leave out the spoiler stuff for now -- i'll tack them into another post once anyone here who hasn't seen the movie, sees it, etc) later!! Highlander II
