| I love Alien so much, but I'd rather not have another film than to have Sig Weaver EVER appear in another one. I am completely disgusted with her charactor and her. Honestly just end it now. Let it die in peace. Ripley finally won, the Alien is dead. |

| Please don't do it..... The way this continues to bubble over means that it is going to happen sometime. This franchise is worth too much money not to continue it. But I really hope they get the next one right and don't completely mess it up. Quote:
I'd much rather see Ridley Scott's prequel idea of the Alien's home planet. It could even uncover some larger conspiracy by the Weyland-Yutani Company right from the very beginning. Maybe they seeded the planet from which the alien wreck came in the first place, to cause genocide of the indigenous population, so they could then annex the mineral rights. Something along those lines... make a new level and dimension to the story. Not just, Alien versus Ripley, Alien versus Terminator, Alien versus Predator.

| Re: 5th & 6th Alien Films? I would like very much to see Ridley Scott's version of the origins of the Alien. After all, we've had one possible explanation offered in the Alien vs. Predator movie. The idea is a good one if it were a prequel and well plotted. Many people out there are definitely curious about the creature. It's one of the most terrifyingly memorable monsters to hit the screens for an age. But yes, no Ripley please. That would just make everything a farce. It'd be too ridiculous for words. |

| Re: 5th & 6th Alien Films? You resurected a 3 year old thread to say that?!? Oh well, it's open again so I may as well say that the next film will be Alien vs Predator 2. What would be really cool would be Alien vs Predator vs Schwarzenneger. Lots of shooting... Yeeerr! |

| Re: 5th & 6th Alien Films? I would like a real Alien 3 to be made, "Alien 3: The Do Over". Let's forget that 3 and 4 happened, and jump in twenty years after Ripley, Newt and co made it back. They could play pretty much their own age, the Newt character would be late twenties, and could take a big role. Get Cameron/Scott to direct it, and let's see what we've all wanted, Aliens swarming Earth. Huge box office. |

.But anyway, haven't you read Earth Hive? That's pretty much the plot. They just changed the names and Ripley died off. Hicks and Newt are there though. Someone's probably already said this but - Alien : Earth Hive was written before the 3rd Alien existed, and while it was a better concept than the 3rd movie, the film rocked. It lacked action, sure, but it rivalled the 1st in suspense and bested it as far as acting and cinematography are concerned (bear in mind that I'm talking about the special edition Directors Cut, not the horribly bare theatrical version - I know it's only half hour or so but damn..) So yeah. That's that. I feel passionately about this. ![]()

| Re: 5th & 6th Alien Films? So the conclusion is? Have we worn Alien out? Would people go see another alien movie? Maybe we could have an Alien vs Riddick Personally I have had enough. I saw only the first and second Alien movies, then I had had enough, I did come back to see Alien vs Predator but I don't think I could handle a no 2 of that. I think its time to put it to bed well at least for a good 20 years or so.... |

| Re: 5th & 6th Alien Films? NO! That can't be the conclusion. Regardless of how much of a dissapointment both Alien: Ressurection and AvP were, the essential soul of the franchise is still one of the most developed and enjoyable in film so far. If it was a building, it would be listed! It has a massive following (some of whom didn't think much of AvP, but tolerated it as a spin-off) and there's no doubt in my mind that a 5th installment of the original story would bring herds to the big screen. Guaranteed. And if the rumours pay off and it's a Cameron/Ripley collaberation I think it's a safe bet that those herds would feel that justice had been done. |
