I think vimes is great,followed by carrot,angua,detritus,and the rest of the watch,i love the city watch books,they crack me up.

I didnt think of it like that, but yes that would be it.Although plain old Sam Vimes is good enough for three.

Maybe the fact he pops up on so many people's favourite lists is a hint to start? Really he is a great character.

Sam Vimes is the central character in all of the Guards books. And since they are the best books of the bunch in my opinion, that makes him my favourite character
pTerry really knows how to portray a policeman in a favourable light!

My favourites are Death, Greebo, Nanny Ogg (she reminds me very much of my own Nanny, even down to the cat), Magrat, Granny Weatherwax and the Burser
