Annette asked me to add something here, but didn't give the correct link, and didn't say what. Asmiley seems to be on top of it anyway from what I've just read, just waiting for Markpud to say yes.

I vote Alien anyway, the first and best, though it is a close thing, and I can't think of any films where the sequels are this good (not including franchises like Star Wars and Star Trek).

I voted for aliens - it was the first VHS cassette I ever bought, and I watched it repeatedly for about a year. I have always loved Michael Biehn, and although Newt kinda annoyed me, the whole ensemble was great. The slimey "company" guy, the green Lt, the hard-nosed Sergeant. Loved em all.

I always find it surprising when I watch Alien that Sigourney Weaver isn't really in it that much - especially when you consider that she became the driving force behind the sequels.

I agree with Dave's comment's about the high standard of the sequels in comparison to other franchises - and IMO Alien 3 isn't all bad, it's still pretty watchable.

thats partly the reason i like aliens
the characters(i felt) Were so much betetr than any of the otehr movies....well maybe in alien res. they were ok....lol
