Now I don't want to get off on a rant here but...

I haven't had a chance to review my copy of volume 8 yet but I can't wait. It has a video profile of that vivacious vixen Mrs. Mysterious Stranger...uh, I mean Gigi Edgley!!! I'll be back with details later this week.

Also, Volume 9 on Nov. 27th...it really IS beginning to look a lot like Christmas!!!

Play Nice!!!

Later Scapers!!!!

God, I love A Human Reaction! Durka returns is cool, too, but I just LOVE the "previously unbroadcast footage" on AHR! :coolyello Even the argument between Zhaan and Chi at the beginning is great! :gaptooth:

And only 12 days left until I get Through the Looking Glass and A Bug's Life. Wonder what the extra footage on those eppys will show... hmmmm. :rotate:

WHat unbroadcasted footage? I only know AHR from the brit DVD and they say it is completely and totally uncut, so is there anything that I don't know?

Well.... I'm sure there's plenty you don't know, but as far as the DVDs are concerned, here in the US we get all the footage they already saw in the UK but was never telecast here. So we get "previously unbroadcast footage" on every one of the new DVDs.

You get all that?

In short, the UK audience gets longer versions of the show than we poor Americans because we apparently need more commercials.

Each eppy here is only about 44 minutes long (not counting the end credits), and each UK eppy is about 49 minutes, so we don't get to see those extra 4-5 minutes until they come out on DVD. That's all that's about. :dead:

Hmmm.....the UK DVD's didn't seem so much longer. Normally it's about 42 to 46 minutes per epy, or do you count the commercials as time?

No, we never count commercials... but I'm told that the UK station has been cutting the hezmana out of the eppys.

Who knows why?

But the time has probably come down from an average of 50 minutes per ep to 47 or so (and that's including the credits). The eps shown here in the States are still shorter by about 3 or 4 minutes, so that really adds a lot the way they film Farscape.

Does that clarify it for you?

I checked AHR on DVD, runningtime including end credits is 48:07 minutes. Should be uncut I guess.

Now I don't want to get off on a rant here but...

I just picked up my copy of Volume 9 on schedule. Still no date for Volume 10 but hopefully it'll be out by New Year's.

Anywho, Volume 9 has a profile of our favorite voice guy - Lani Tupu voice of Pilot! Oh yeah, he's also that Crais guy. Can't wait to watch it.

By the by, the profile of Mrs. Mysteri...I mean Gigi was pretty good. Although there wasn't any behind the scenes footage like the other profile. They must be saving some of the good stuff for Season 2 DVDs.

The morning after scene in A Human Reaction almost made me cry with joy at seeing them together at last.

More this weekend.

Later Scapers!!!

Just picked up and watched my DVD #9! There's are tons of little extras in TTLG, too, and some very telling stuff between Laraq and Aeryn in ABL!

The guy at the video store said they must be slowing down the release dates on the FS DVDs, since there's no release date for #10 yet. I just hope ADV doesn't withhold release on the final four like SciFi did :crying: when the first aired.

I need my Farscape!

Watched Volume 9 finally...

The eps were everything I remember and a little more. The video profile of Lani was pretty interesting. Although no behind the scenes same as the Gigi profile. Maybe Volume 10 will have Wayne Pygram (Scorpy) as the profile since that's about the time he showed up.

Anywho, I still don't have a date for the release of 10 or 11. They are advertising the "entire" first season on DVD and video on TV so maybe they'll be out soon.

Later Scapers...!!!

Release date for volume 10! Mark your calenders, folks, Nerve and The Hidden Memory will be out on DVD in the States on January 22nd (the week after Buffy season one). :coolorang

I'm with you, MS, I hope the Scorpy profile has some behind the scenes stuff with Wayne Pygram. I read that this DVD is supposed to have extras with him, so we'll see. :erm:

Only two more days until the release of Farscape DVD #10!

WhooooHoooooo! I know they aren't new eppys, but they are among the best of season one, and I can't wait to see the "extended" versions of these two.

Hey, Grifter, if you're still here, I just found out in an interview with Ben that the latest eppys are the same length in the UK as they are here in the US now, so no one gets "more" than anyone else. That gives me less to look forward to on the season three DVDs when they come out. I hope TPTB include more extras to make up for it. :erm:
