I do have a character who adopts a particular "fashion choice"** in my WiPs (starting in the first main chapter of WiP1), which may be taken to indicate a personal preference, but there
is a major plot point involved (one that, unfortunately, is not revealed until the end of WiP3, although it's vaguely hinted at in WiP2).
