Ferrari got away with this. A 5s time penalty for Alonso would've been just.
It's a good point about Turkey. The problem is with the holding station order that we know F1 cars need to run in fuel-saving mode for at least part of the race. If that's the case, not ordering them to conserve fuel would be insane.
In this instance, it's 100% clear that Ferrari issued a team order, and 100% clear that this is against the rules of F1. The FIA gave Ferrari a slap on the wrist, and they got away with it. |
