| In Hungarian it is called "Csillagkapu" which is the straight translation of Stargate (star=csillag, gate=kapu) What really sucks is they refer to SG-1 as 'CSK-1' and I simply can't get use to that! How about the dubbing? We have everything dubbed here, and well, it's not the best thing. Sam has a hysterical voice in Hungarian, Teal'c's is just weird coz in Hungarian he has a much higher voice than Chris has, Daniel and Hammond are fine, Jack's is cool, the Hungarian actor who's dubbing him even doing that 'lip thing' that RDA does My problem is with the translation, the Hungarian version lacks in humour many times ...it gets lost during the translation ![]() |

| The same here, cinnamonia! Many jokes get lost during the translation and even jokes that don't work just in english but could be well translated get lost...and I hate that! Sam and Jack's german voices are okay, but Daniel's voice is way too high and he sounds like a 16-year-old teenager...Hammond's is a little bit funny, but Teal'c's soooo deep, I love it... ![]() |

![]() But fortunately czech voices aren't bad. Daniel's and Hammond's voices are a bit higher, but okay. We have sometimes problems with translation. Not only that many of jokes remain untranslated, but also some planets' names are not correct. Many times we can hear PX3... instead P3X or not all the numbers of the planet's name. Some sentences are translated incorrect too. The biggest mistake was in the ep. Solitudes, when in the end of that ep. delirious Jack called Sara and in czech version he called Sam. ![]()

| Vera, it was the same in the Hungarian version! 'Hungarian Jack' also said 'Sam' instead of Sara! I remember reading something about it, I think the original script had Sam's name, but RDA thought it would make more sense to say Sara instead so he did....or something like that! ![]() I guess the script had Sam's name, and that is why they put that into the translation. I heard many translations also had Sam's name, they use the script for translating. I wish they simply put subtitles instead of dubbing! |

| Thanx for the info, Cin. It's a bit surprise for me. Some times ago I asked a question about this Sara-Sam thing and everyone said that the correct version is with Sara. Personally I think the Sara version is better. ![]() Greetings Vera ![]() |

Well, at least we got most if not all of the planet's designations right, but I still don't understand why they can't translate jokes ...that really CAN be translated...right. What's so hard about: 'You want sarcasm? Nice to meet ya!'? That's what's really annoying me!!! ![]()

| LOL, that one was in 'One false step', season two! Jack to Daniel when they are fighting... I LOVE that line, but here they decided to change it into: (translated): 'You don't like sarcasm, but I should believe your stories?' |
