Better still I refer rhubarb.

Oh, and yes, lashings of custard.

In my opinion custard isn't custard unless it sticks to the back of a spoon for at least one minute and it must coat the spoon in to a depth of one quarter inch.

In other words thick custard, not the weak kneed splash it all over type. Custard needs to self level over time not run around the pie seeking out every nook and cranny.

I've never tried to lash anyone or anything with custard. It would be far too messy.

It isn't the thickness of the custard that hurts when it's flung in your face, it's the surface tension which, if I might mention, stings most, all depending on pace.
