Re: All about us.

What be The Tribe?

Let's see....

My name, in most of its unexpurgated glory, (there are middle names too!!!) is Jayaprakash Satyamurthy!! Call me JP, Jay or even knivesout, it's much easier.

I'm 26 (1977 born) and live in Bangalore, India. My brithday occurs onthe 7th of each July.

I work as a web content writer and what they call an Information Architect .

I am deeply into reading - largely sf/f but other odds and ends, too. Some favorite non-engre authors: Orwell, Martin Amis, John Banville, Italo Calvino, Umberto Eco. I also write on my own account, and hope to make something of it some day.

Also quite into music. My tastes are broad. Oh, I play a bit of bass guitar too.

My dislikes are varied and virtually all-encompassing.

I am rather cynical and even a bit aloof at times, but quite approachable for all that. If you meet me in person, don't let the serial-killer eyes put you off!

There. Info-dump done!

Location: Florida, USA
Hobbies: Reading, movies, horseback riding, softball, bargain hunting, entering sweepstakes, painting, playing with clay and other artsy stuff
Interests: Science, science fiction, fantasy, animals, nature, trivia, history

Post All About Spam Mail

I filled out the spam mail below about a year ago when my account was being bombarded by surveys. I was in a bit of a sarcastic mood at the time.

1.What is your name?
*looks around until he sees an empty juice bottle* um...Vitamin Dole. *squints* what??? I am only 5% real fruit juice??! *throws self across the room*

2. What are you thinking about at the moment?
Must we really color coordinate our bathroom towels?

3.What color pants are you wearing right now?
*looks down* um, er....just boxers

4.What song are you listening to right now?
"Leader of Men" by Nickelback

5.What are the last four digits of your phone:
*fumbles through his wallet* ok, hold on...do you want my phone number or my social security number first?

6.What was the last thing you ate?
*thinks* i ate a barbarcue chicken sandwich...but that was yesterday; I probably should eat again.

7. Do you have a girlfriend/boyfriend:
I only date cross-dressers, so the question confuses me.

8.If you were a crayon, what color would you want to be?:
Let's think about this question...what kind of evil fate would I be having if I was magically transformed into a crayon for the rest of time (or until I was left in the backseat window of a car), but then was maliciously asked to pick the color that I wanted to be?

9.Where do you want to go on your honeymoon?:
you know what? I can understand you asking for my phone number, but planning our honeymoon at this point of the relationship is just plain creepy.

10.Who do you want to spend the rest of your life with?:
*holds up his left hand with a dirty sock on it* With Mr. Crinkle!!! Say hello to the nice people, won't you? *crinkle, crinkle*

11.Do you like snow, sun or rain?:
I love rain

12.How is the weather right now?:
*looks outside and gets yelled at by the neighbors about not wearing any pants*

13.Last person you talked to on the phone?:
My pimp....he has just got plain mean after losing his right arm

14.What's the first thing you notice about the opposite sex?:
Their smile...wait, no---both sexes can smile. Their eyes...wait, no---both sexes have eyes. Their hair...wait, no---both have hair. Their breasts....wait, no----fat middle aged men have breasts. I guess I would have to say that I notice their female genitals first.

15.Do u like the person that sent u this:
You mean Lauren? Yeah, she is awsome

16.Hi, How are you today?
*glares* bugger off, sweet sixteen...

17. Your fav.drink?(non-alcholic):
Chocolate milk!!! whoa-hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *coughs* er, don't really have a favorite......

17.5: Fave alcoholic drink?
*points* 17.5??? what the heck???!!! Does that make ANY sense?

18.What makes you happy?
cereal *stares vacantly*

19 .Who's your best friend?
Megan

20.What's the next cd you're gonna get?
well, I am really looking forward to the new Rob Zombie album...

21.Birthday?
Oct. 18, 1978....it is not too late to put cards with money in the mail

22.Hair color?
hold on *runs and gropes through the garbage until he finds the wrapper* um, Purplesrousrex....hey! Thanks for asking me, by the way! I forgot to cut out the points.

23.Eye color?
blue crayons

6'1"

I prefer if they bath

37. Men's Cologne?
[place right answer here]

38. Do you dance?
you mean, like, as a profession?

39.Are you too shy to ask someone out?
no need to

40.Worst sickness you ever had?
One time I ate a whole big bag of Reese's Pieces while watching the movie "Dude, Where is My Car?"---the combo almost killed me.

41.
Sorry, not as sexy as 28

42.What is the stupidest thing you ever done?
ah, all my stupid moments have a special place in my heart...I can't play favorites...

There's something we have in common! Although a friend describes me as a 'mystical atheist' whatever that is.

I had my first hangover at 20, btw. Hurt like hell.

I have always viewed Atheism as a faith in its own right - after all - I cannot prove the non-existance of God - all I have is my own belief......my own faith.

I consider myself a reluctant atheist - I would prefer there was a God I just don't believe there is one. Perhaps a mystical atheist is something similar?

Or perhaps I'm just being two faithed? (sorry. couldn't resist)

Well, not quite. Although I do not believe in the literal truth of any religious deity, or in the notion of a conscious, interventionist supreme force, I do feel there is more to reality than can be weighed and measured scientifically - yet.

However, I am a reluctant atheist, too - my lack of belief does not come from a cynical reaction, and I would like to be able to believe there is something to the consolations that faith gives so many people.

Anyway, enough of this godless ramling!

You'll have to come to my part of the world sometime, then, riffraff. Along about late August/early September, we've got raisins all over the place. In fact, the town of Selma, just down the road from where I live, claims to be the "Raisin Capital of the World". Unfortunately, I'm allergic to raisins (actually, grapes and anything made out of them), so I get horrible (well, more horrible than usual) allergies that time of year, when they're out drying.
