Re: All about us.

Elaine was Lancelot's spurned love, she threw herself off a cliff onto some rocks. I hope that you do not do the same. Andreas is no Lancelot. Welcome!

Re: All about us.

Name: Cricket

Age: 14

Location: Greenville, SC

Born: Marseille, France.

Occupation: Student, high school, 9th grade this year.

Hobbies: 4H, AQHA riding, raising german shepard and sheep, making the webpage with sisters, making avatars and signatures for friends for forums and live journals, going to church, talking on the phone, making the scrap book and crafts, helping mom at the restaurant, playing Ultima Online, volunteering at shelter home.

Interests: Hmmm, this is not the same as hobbies? I like a lot of things, like exploring the forums. I like reading sometimes, so long as it is online. Books make me dizzy if they say too much and I have to run outside and lay down in the hammock. Hmmm, animals. I want to have a llama to raise for next year's state fair project. I like working and making money at my mom's place. I like school because I can see my friends. I like going to see my sister Stormie at USC because it is the "big city" for South Carolina. Hehe. I especially look forward to going to the football games. Now I know what the people in Rome felt, going to the Coliseum. So exciting. Hmm, what else? I like drawing and painting and helping my mom. I love going to church and singing. I am interested in one boy at church now, but I am not sure yet. He is so very strange.

Likes: I like NASCAR racing, fishing in the river, swimming in the creek, playing in the hayloft in winter, travelling to the beach, overnight lock-ins at church, and tractor pulls, greased piglet roundups, and amateur night at the state fair. I like Marines, well, the uniforms. I like going to town and listening to the old men on the front porch of the store tell their stories, like the latest one about the Lizard Man taking everyone's dogs and cats around here. I like family night playing games. I like cooking and baking if it does not come out burnt.

Dislikes: I will have to think about this one. Maybe obnoxious people? Hmmm, not sure. Terrorists for sure. I do not like palmetto bugs. Such a nice name for a giant roach. They are so big here, and do not care if you are clean and spray or not. They come anyway. So scary. Yes, I do not like them.

To someonelike myself, raised in a dirty English town, that just seems such an unreal and movie-like idyllic.

Re: All about us.

Hehe. That is so funny. To think, all I can do is think how wonderful it must be there. Everyone lives in nice tudor homes, wears Shetland sweaters, goes to Manchester United games, and knows Prince William, yes? Hehe.

Actually, in truth, there is not much else to do but those things. And it is so terribly hot here in summer. I am dying. Hehe. I pray for autumn Halloween. Say, I want to start a Guy Hawkes day here to extend the Halloween holiday. I asked my father and he said maybe. I am thinking that means, yes. We will just have to make sure the field layed fallow for the next year is not to dry for the bonfire. Otherwise, it will be a really big surprise. In the effigies to burn, can it be anyone, or just the random scarecrow?

Re: All about us.

it is supposed to be Guy Fawkes. He attempted to blow up the houses of parliament in 1605. In London. That was a big no-no. He got caught and his plot was foiled. Hence the rhyme:

Remember remember the 5th of November,
Gun Powder, treason and plots.
Who dares to remember the 5th of November,
Should ner be forgot.

Click on the link below for full details of the plot and british celebrations.

Re: All about us.

As i've stated before, the rest of the world is a bit of kilter, I am perfectly normal...
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHa

Barney always reminds me of the program, Special Unit 2, in one of the episodes they had to catch this 'Link', a purple cartoonish character (obviously effigy of Barney) who played an annoying and hypnotic song in order to enslave children!

He must be stopped from his plans for world dommination!!!!

My first thought is - cool.

My second thought is - maybe they don't have untreated sewerage outfalls close to the beaches, as they have had a habit of doing so in the UK.

Third though is JAWS.
