Re: All about us.

Hello, Amidala. As requested:
Name: Michael
age: 37 (until August)
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Hobbies: Posting on this forum now! Reading, writing, verbal sparring with my cousin. I've tried my hand at a couple of fantasy games so far.
Interests: science, science fiction, fantasy, mythology, some comics ('specially the wall-crawler).
website: R. M. Spacemaster's Hompage (it isn't much to look at)--http://home.comcast.net/~spacepubs/rmspacemaster.html
Likes: Spending time with my boy. Educational (mostly about science and tech) programming. Music, such as metal, punk, celtic, some classical, some comtemporary christian, and some modern country.
dislikes: Not spending time with my boy, con artists who pretend to be agents, completely banning artwork (age limits don't bother me so much).
Other notes: Writing and publishing books used to be the most important goal in my life, until six years ago, when my my son was born. Now it's the second most important goal, while doing whatever I can for him is foremost (interestingly, that includes getting published--oh, the irony).

Re: All about us.

Pleased to meet you Michael. I didn't quite get the bit about banning artwork - could you explain it a bit more for my benefit? I can be as dense as I want to at times.

Better late than never.

Name: Thomas William Meade
age:18
Location:Geelong, Australia
Hobbies: reading, writing, complaining, reading reviews and then disagreeing with them, drawing, using my computer, watching movies
Interests: history, Norse mythology, sci-fi/fantasy, language (I speak one LOTE but know enough of others to bug people with iritating trivia).Palaeontology and physics
Likes: Cheese, the Simpsons, Monty Python, Conan O'Brien (far too much but not that much), Triple J, dinosaurs, HPL, CAS and REH
dislikes:jerks, teenage girls, those convinced something is okay because they've been doing it all their life, the unjustifiably predjudiced, broccoli, the inebriated, comedians who mine their ethnicity and the difference betwen men and women without actually doing any origional material, teen movies, the state of the mainstream modern music industry, hippies, ludites, those who refuse to deee the benifits of modern scientific developments, those who think something is wrong or wierd without considering why they think this in a logical and well-done manner. Air freshner.
Other notes: Is a cantankerous old bastard in spite of only being nineteen, but compensates for this with an absolute clarity of mind monkey tap-dancing in Burma on a cheese steak.

Re: All about us.

I've had to deal with more than my fair share of teenaged girls lately and I heartily second your dislike. I'd forgotten about their annoying way of offering unsolicited empathy and Hallmark greeting card sentiments.

Sorry, I didn't get that either. I thought it was just me though.

Re: All about us.

This morning while shopping at the supermarket, I spent a lot of time imagining how much fun it would be to meet up with knivesout in India, and meet these teenage girls - only to quite agree with his overall appraisal.

Re: All about us.

I love teenage girls... Is that wrong?

Michael was referring to the banning of art in a high school in New Mexico. I think.

(Brian are we the only red blooded males on these boards?)

Hello to everybody that I haven't already welcomed.
