You have hit upon what the writers were talking about. It is Zen but also you can find the refrain (pun intended)in Thomas More, when he said when the devil attacts and you tear apart all laws to attempt to defeat him and he turns on you what do you have left as you have destroyed that which protects you to get to him.
Essentially you can not fight on his territory and with his tools...

Maternal Instinct's guide said the same thing...

I am now curious to see what Daniel's new path will be.

I enjoyed this episode, evil danny was cool, and it kept me guessing right up to the end. I also liked all of the questions raised by the kid.

The best part of the episode was the scene at the beginning when Jack is trying to explain the candle analogy -
"It's always better to have a big, long wick".
I love it when Jack tries to be intelligent, he's so funny! :laugh2:
