Still, I shall have to pay for them eventually. My latest haul has been Mr. George and Other Odd Persons by August Derleth, Colonel Markesan and Less Pleasant People by August Derleth, Marginalia by Lovecraft &c, The Folsom Flint and Other Curious Talesby David H. Keller, The Third Grave by David Case and Revelation in Black by Carl Jacobi. I have been tempted to get the Arkham House edition of Clark Ashton Smith's prose poems, but I have heard whispers that a new edition is forthcoming, so I shall wait for that, I think. |
That's an impressive haul there! I'd love to have another copy of
Marginalia; though I have nearly all the material in it elsewhere, still there is
something about that book (aside from the lovely Virgil Finlay jacket).... Not to mention the lovely photos of HPL's study and the like.... I also have quite a fondness for the two Derleth volumes (or, rather, Derleth and Derleth and Schorer). For some reason, the titles of those (and Ramsey Campbell's
The Inhabitant of the Lake and Less Welcome Tenants) have always appealed to me. Must be something about the combination of hints of genuinely disturbing weird things with a sort of ironic understatement....
