Re: Battle Field Earth by Ron Hubbard

Hiya folks, just replying to a recent reply to an earlier post.
I am in no way a reincarnation of Ron Hubbard,i personally think scientology sucks in the worst way,and when i bought the book,i couldn't have told you who he was,if someone put a gun to my head.
I just bought an interesting looking book which i thoroughly enjoyed, that's all,i seem to remember that religon is in no way mentioned in this book,so there is no link to "scientology",at all.
So feel free to not read anything in to my enjoying this book.

This seems to have divided people. I have tried to read it, but i have to say that i didn't rate what i did read. I have read some of Hubbards work and i didn't find it overly impressive considering the following that this guys has.

Well i've never read any of his stuff but the only books of his i've come across are those in that 10 or 20 book series about a space detective. Asimov did that so much better! Can't say it appeals to be honest and as for scientology well you have to ignore that and seperate it from the books. After all Tom Cruise is into it yet he's a good actor

Re: Battle Field Earth by Ron Hubbard

I don't know anything about the scientology aspect and it really doesn't bother me who is. people are entitled to their beliefs. I just thought that he was a really bad writer. There was a 10 book series that i read back in the 90s (They were british 1st editions and i got them cheap from forbidden planet.) I read them all, but i really had to force myself to finish.
