Exclamation IMPORTANT: What this board is for

IMPORTANT:

If you post any kind of appraisal of any novel or film anywhere on these forums, we would like to post it up on the main site of the chronicles-network!

We don't care how formal or informal your writing is - we don't care if it's a complete technical review or just a couple of paragraphs of general comment. In fact, we'd actually like to use the term "personal appraisal" rather than "review".

All book "reviews" will go up on www.chronicles-network.com and all film reviews will go up on www.chronicles-network.co.uk

If you have any other articles in mind - whether news, or features on any other aspect of the world of sci-fi and fantasy, then PLEASE do post it in this forum for consideration, and I'll see about making room for it somewhere.

PLEASE NOTE: because of the contentious issue of electronic rights, I have no current plans to open up with a "new fiction" section of writing. However, I am going to take this to a vote on the writers forum and see what the response is like.

All other forms of non-fiction articles are welcome.

Re: IMPORTANT: What this board is for

If anyone sees something that might qualify as a "personal appraisal" of a book, or film, then please repost it on the reviews board - in it's own thread if possible - so it'll be easier for me to find. I can then sort out making a place for it, and doing the necessary research.

How, technically should we do this? Begin a new thread with the title being the subject being reviewed and cut and paste the text from the other threads and including the original poster and that it has been edited for the new forum? Just want to make sure before I go ahead.

Re: IMPORTANT: What this board is for

Neat! The idea of 'other non-fiction' articles has me thinking, too...

That sounds like a great idea!

Ummm...can I take some of these as long as I cite the original writers? Or would you prefer me to ask permission individually?

Did you talk directly to Brian about this, SW? He is the copyright holder on everything posted here unless otherwise stated, as per this:

Re: IMPORTANT: What this board is for

Well, that's what the post was for. I suppose I could pm him, but I'm too lazy. I'll just wait for a response here. It's not due until the end of the semester.

Re: IMPORTANT: What this board is for

I'm afraid I would not be happy with chronicles content being taken and reposted on other websites. Sort of defeats the point of having them posted here. You're more than welcome to link to reviews, though.
