Attraction often has nothing to do with looks my dear..... and if it does, then it's surface and rather shallow. Nobody knows why one person is attracted to someone and another isn't. I live every day in a waorld where I am judged not only by the way I look but by my age..... I find it rather frustrating that people won't take the time to look beyond the outside packaging. It's the presence and sheer quiet power of the character that attracted me.... And if you look at some of the screen captures from double Jeopardy, you will see that the face of the actor shows a ability to be rather mischievous..... especially his smile. While it's true that he doesn't have the rather bland handsome face that Daniel has, Cronus certainly has a damnsight more character in his face than him. I get rather sick sometimes of these handsome bland men that get thrust at us these days on the small and big screens. If you truly want to know who out of all the actors really gets me having a hot flush.... it's Sean Connery..... who just gets sexier as he gets older..... And one of my boyfriends was balding, had a huge nose and the thickest Birmingham accent you ever heard was one of the sexiest, most passionate men I have ever met. Never judge a book by its cover Nic...... as you get older you will learn than the world doesn't revolve around good looks or youth. In fact, youth is rather wasted on the young. ![]()

Hey Anni, I did manage to find a nice picture of Cronus (from FairGame I think?). Must say that's a nice strong chin he's got there! ![]() He looks a little different in your avatar. Is your avatar picture taken for the second episode he appeared in? I can't remember it's name, but I sure wish Cronus could have been in more episodes (as Im sure you'd agree). He was much most threatening than the young pretty boys. ![]() The mind is much more attractive that the body. My last post was just a little bit of a catty joke. Your right though, young is waisted on the young ![]()

Nic..... it's okay.... I know that Cronus isn't one of those characters that starts the copious drooling from the fans of this show. And I sincerely hope you don't mind me gently reminding everyone that there is more to any human being than the way they look. And that beauty is only skin deep!!! But believe me, there is a smallish group out here in fandom that believe that he could have been developed as a character, instead of being used as a plot foil for Teal'c, which is, quite simply why they introduced him as a character in the first place. He was the complete antithesis to, as you said, pretty little boy characters like Ra and Apophis. Heru-Ur was another who could have been developed a lot more. Instead the writers have chucked all of these other characters at us and just muddied the plot and confused the issues. One of the hardest things to do in writing or creating characters is to create them, keep their position in a plot clear and concise and make sure that their appearances in a story or stories don't muddy the concept of the tale itself. I strive to do that all the time in my Stargate novel. I have introduced many new characters but am constantly going back to make sure that their position in the book doesn't compromise the plot, the timeline or the story itself. And above all that all of the original characters stay true to their original specifications. Although of course, I do allow myself some literary licence and fun with the original characters too! My avatar is one of those from Double Jeopardy. I have a couple that I can put on as avatars. But yes, he DOES have a rather nice firm chin.... and a nicely shaped mouth. But he isn't perfect by any means..... just the way I like my men. He also looks like the kind of guy who knows his way around the site without having to use a route map!
