Try this url:

http://babel.altavista.com/translate...r%3D2&lp=en_fr

it is bablefish's translation of a forum page. Does it make any sense what so ever? Is it worth implementing here?

Also, please can someone write a nice couple of passages (forum type writing) in French. I want to convert it to English and see what happens.

Reasoning:

I want, say Frehcn people to be able to visit the site, read everything in French (automatically translated) and then if they post, there french posts is converted into english before going into database. See?

Anyway, have a look and tell me what you think. And do some french posts so i can see how it comes out

Cool

coming to you, from downtown Quebec, via the electronic highway through the land of the mingo and her black angus, rematerializing miraculously in ascifi land, we have greywolf... drum roll please

Salut Mingo!

Mingo Hello! I do not have time to record me immediately, then could you copy and stick this small message for your Padders buddy? It one is trés beautiful site which you have there. When I would have finished catching up with the mail in my limps (which is likely to explode!), I would come from continuation to record me and leave you a small message about Stargate-sg1. Anything for a friend of Marvelous Mingo! With the next one! Greywolf P.S. the translations which you put are not perfect, but all the same rather comprehensible. This site of translation (Here) is that which I prefer too.

oh my

i am not that impressed with the translation. I think i get a better jist trying to read the french

thank you though, i may look at implementing it but have to say they have a lot of work to do!

whoa!!!!!!!!

Padders, I have to agree ... I am better at translating from the original French myself, than what that "translator" spews ... LOL

Perhaps the problem is this CanFrench vs EuroFrench thingy?

I know I learned the latter in High School, so the gutterized stuff we are exposed to on the prairies is incomprehensable the majority of the time.

Smile hihohiho

Hi to all of you fellow canadians!

I too am writting from the great downtown Quebec city!
I've been a crazy fan of Stargate for 3 years and just decided to give a try at forums... Yes, I'm new in these parts and I have no idea how a forum works... but I'm sure I'll learn quick enough!

And don't be shy to tell me my english sucks! I now it does!!!

Anyway, I'm hoping to meet great people here and have fun!
