No please kill apophis off in the series and write about something else for the movie

I sure hope the sequel does NOT try to answer ANY questions about the series. Hey guys remember the X Files movie, they tried to do the same thing. They tried to answer a few questions about their series but only left people more disappointed and confused.

If its going to be a great sequel, then it must start off from the original planet, where Ra was killed and you better keep teal'c and Kasuf. I have to tell you though I really wish they could bring back Kurt Russell, he is simply amazing. And I remember Richard Dean Anderson saying in an interview years ago that "I wouldn't be able to do half of what he(Kurt) did in that movie". And he was right. But I have to give credit to Richard for all his ad libs one liners, it has juiced up the show a notch. I'm always on the look out for his one liners. You don't know what to expect.
Back to the sequel. It has to be an invasion of some gould faction that was ruled by RA. I don't think the sequel should start out cold for those viewers who don't watch the series, because you can't hold everyone's hand. And you can't please everyone, all the time. Besides only sci-fi fans are going to attend anyway. I just hope its not a watered down family version where they have no violence.
I have to go for now i'll be back to post more of my opinions and ideas for a sequel.

Oh I almost forgot to mention that I've observed the female gender take a real liking to shari. I think she should live on in the movie, real soft spoken character and you know how much the movie industry really needs good familiar female faces up on the screen. And I think they should also Use Heru-ur. I think he's was the best goul'd leader of them all, because he really looks like, talks like, and acts like a ruthless leader. I could see him attacking earth but then is meet with suprise technology we acquire from an alien race, then to see him get away and barely survive by the skin of his teeth.

Smile HELLO, SGC-1

Welcome to the Talkstargate section SGC-1,

Glad you are posting and what a lot of ideas you have for the movie! A lot of people wonder if it will be what the X-Files tried to do with their movie or if the Devlin and Emmerich team will do a sequel. From what I have heard, the sequel, if there is one would be after Year 5 because that is what the producers of Stargate SG-1 are working on now. If Devlin and Emmerich are going to do it, it will be a whole new tangle of symboites.

If you can't find a thread that you need, open a new thread in the appropriate section. Just no flames, please. We do welcome questions, comments ... Wow you did great with the film ... and quries. Thanks for posting. Browse and Enjoy!

I would like to see a movie that deals with the SG-1 discovering the aliens who built the stargates and protecting them from Ra who's symbiot was saved though now has a new host. Maybe you could bring back Kurt Russel or Spader to play RA this time around.

yeah the ancients apparently 'moved on from our galaxy' so maybe SG-1 will gate to another planet in their glaxay?

shall be good, and we need to meet 'The Furlings' too!

okay, I've said else where that I think the series has covered most of it...and it can't be just a run of the mill thing.

yes, the Ancients and the furlungs (sp) should be in it...either together or just one. They could delve into why the Ancients left, meet them even.....

It also would be nice to see what the orginal vision was, but I don't think that will happen, other wise why wait until the end of season five filming? why not just go ahead and make it...using the oringal characters.....?????

or, how about they find some cult here on the earth...(yes, I do know its been done before, but could be much bigger), bigger goau'ld, even a breeding ground maybe...what ya think.....

There is also tu'lac and the Jaffar...I mean, how did they get the way they are (yes I know how hathor created Jack), but couldn't it deal with that history?

okay, maybe I'm rambling....

but the books were good....!!! maybe one or two adapted (still annoyed they didn't do more).

okay, I'm going now as I'm not even making sense to myself.

He he Abydos6 U sure woke this film section up!

I'd say that the new SG film, will have to be action packed, ie lots of fights, most likely with the Go'auld as they're the bad guys that eveyone knows and loves. Whether its land based fighting with Zats and Staffs etc or some kind of space battle, with the Tau'ri getting some space tech from somewhere I odnt know. Possibly a mixture of both space and land battles

The story involving the creation of the gates and the Ancients, Furlings etc would be interesting, but perhaps better suited to the TV show than a movie, as the movie needs to be something that non-SG1 viewers can pick up on quickly and have their interest held by..

Thanks Markpud...

I agree totally, the movie needs to be something we haven't really seen so far, and it might be better leaving the Ancients and Furlungs (sp), for the series, where they can draw it out over a season maybe...and go into more depth...

Cool

I saw the X-files movie, and I have to say, that the season following the movies release was all about the movie. In fact the whole movie was about the season prior to it's release. The same thing is happening with Digimon. The movie was based too much on the series. If the person never saw Digimon before, they would never have understood the movie.
I am sure that some people who are going to watch the movie don't know a thing about Stargate. I think that the characters in the movie should be that of SG-1,because watching a movie based on a series would sometimes make someone watch the series. If the movie had no corrolation with the series, then there would be no reason to make a movie, because there would be no rise in ratings for the show, and that would be saddening, wouldn't it?
It could be like a Pokemon movie, it explained what the object of the whole series was about, yet you never need to watch the movie to understand the show and vice versa.

Question Film Idea

What would you guys think if they did the movie as a bigger gandier version of Children of the Gods? This way those folks who have only seen the 1994 movie can take up right where it left off. For die hard fans, they could include extra scenes such as Daniel's year with Shar're, Daniel's funeral after the first mission, and Jack's coming to terms with his failed marriage and learning to live after the death of Charlie. The rest of the movie could stick to the pilot storyline, just done with bigger effects.

Hi Mary, welcome to the forums

Its an interesting idea, it would be good for people who havent watched the series, but I feel it would not be terribly intersting for those of us who have seen the series....except from a purist point of view..

Theres been so many developments since then, it would be a real shame to ignore them...

okay, I agree with markpud, while marys idea would be good up on the big screen, I feel that it needs to deal with what is going on and what may happen....
maybe I'll get my wish for the Ancients in season five....

Talking Movie Idea from fan fic...

IMHO...

I am writing a facfic where a little girl with interesting abilities can look and sound like she's Goa'uld without being one... She is brilliant and does star charts and mathematical mapping for the Airforce. She ends up working for the SGC and to make a long story short she calls herself Claire/Persephone and from the age of 8-20 something she systematically takes down the Goa'uld claiming that she is the system lord of the Tau'ri. Pretty soon the entire known Goa'uld universe is under her control. The JCS is afriad of her but her (and mostly Daniel's) plan works so well because she tells the system lords that the SGC works for her. After she gains control of most of the Goa'uld territory she starts freeing the peoples of each. She then fakes her own murder and returns to normal life... If they used something like this... i.e. the Tau'ri start to really kick butt even with most of the system lords gone you could always find new civilizations, new enemies etc... So that the whole Goa'uld thing doesn't get stale.

Um, did that make any sense?

If they took that idea or anything like it I'd die! I mean I'd be sooooo happy I'd call all of my friends and tell them to come to my funeral becasue I'd be so incredibly thrilled.

Never gonna happen though.
