Re: Fav Character (David Eddings) Would that mean Ehlana is dead then - if Danae is on the throne in a sequel that would kinda mean Ehlana had passed away. I can't see her much stepping down.

Re: Fav Character (David Eddings) ....oh dear, this just begs to be written doesn't it? I can see the dust jacket blurb: "Join Talen and Flute as Queen Ehlana is shipped to the Island of Annoying Characters. Will they rescue her or decide to leave her there?"

Re: Fav Character (David Eddings) That could be another quest: Sparhawk and his companions journey off to the Island to get their womenfolk back. ![]() ![]() Seriously, though, I'm not sure whether Sparhawk would be in a book like that, especially if the focus of the book was Aphrael and Talen. I'd read it, though.

Re: Fav Character (David Eddings) I'd prefer a prequel myself. Maybe Sephrenia's history - Like Polgara, but not as smug - and seeing the whole 'thing' from a Styric viewpoint? Or adventures with the Younger Gods. I think a book of Romalic would be entertaining! Or (it needs saying) a WHOLE BOOK about Ulath. With pictures!

...sorry, that one couldn't be helped. I can see us ... I mean those crazy fan girls sulking in the back as the joys of Vegas are discovered by the guys. All in cheezy late 80's / early 90's movie style. On a serious note a prequel in the Polgara sense would be nice. It always seemed like Sephrenia had an interesting past; her baby sister is a goddess, what happened to their parents, being instructed to leave her home and take up training knights. | |

Re: Fav Character (David Eddings) Good point about the Sephrenia prequel: I always wondered what her life was like, and then for her to discover all of the lies regarding Zalasta. Mind you, a bit from his viewpoint might make interesting reading, too.

Re: Fav Character (David Eddings) Aye... a book about Sephrenia's origins would be nice... though it would kill a lot of the mystery surrounding her character. Meh, I'm ambivalent on this topic... ![]()

Re: Fav Character (David Eddings) I love DG books - more towards BGariad then Ellenium, but one thing I find a bit of a put off is that everything is preordained - its like the characters have no choice esp in the Bgariad series. Love Sparhawk, but the whole Styric an Flute thing I just found irritating

Re: Fav Character (David Eddings) My fav character is Sparhawk. He has the duty and honour of a Church Knight, but chooses to "bend" the rules when they become inconvenient.

Re: Fav Character (David Eddings) hmmm, interesting thread. Now let's see.... from the belgariad/mallorean - probably Vella and/or Beldin from Polgara - Asrana (the young asturian lady who called Polgara "Polly.") from Belgarath - the Salmissra who had all her eunuchs knifed from elenium/tamuli - Kalten because when he loves, he loves (makes me think of my husband) and empress Elysoun, especially in "The Hidden City." from Althalus - Sergeant Khalor, Leitha, and Koleika Iron Jaw from Dreamers - Ara and Rabbit

Re: Fav Character (David Eddings) okay, gonna leave the box WAY behind here. I liked Faran. no not too many lines, but he DID find ways to speak his mind. and he took some pleasure in administering some rather pointed arguments of people who were annoying.
