--------------------------------- Creating topic, remember you can only discuss this episode inside this topic. Reviews of the episode are encouraged. --------------------------------- A sphere of light flies into Moya, of course Aeryn shoots, and we end up with three Crightons: a primative, a future Crighton, and the real one. The question posed is: which two should go back?

I've always liked the splitting of one character into componant parts, and this one was an excellent take on that. Take one original, create a primative version that everyone assumes is a critter, then create a future version that's smarter, more rational, and of more apparent value than either of the other two, and what happens? They all turn on each other of course... well, kind of. I love that Chi advocated the primative (and tender-hearted) Crichton. Can you imagine what it would be like to suddenly devolve into a cro-magnon man? He still had John's memories, but could no longer communicate clearly, couldn't even stand completely erect, and I doubt he could think the same way. What kind of confusion would his own memories create? And Futuro was such a prick! Of course, he would be... what kind of humans would we be without compassion? This version of Crichton would probably join up with Scorpy and create his own wormhole research facility. It would best serve his own interest, and that's all he cared about. Our John was the obvious balance between the two extremes. I love how fragile he was just after he was bounced out of the sphere... he couldn't even stand, and he was shivering beyond control. :errrr: Poor Johnny-boy. I really dug this eppy... can you tell?

I didn't like this epy originally. I watched it again later, and it grew on me. Intersting the choices each member of the group made when the sphere was coming on board - whether to shoot it or not. :erm:

A couple things I wanted to bring up since PkGrl got me itching to dig up old threads. If the future John is what humans are going to evolve into does that mean I'm going to eventually lose my hair? Seriously, do you think that is what we are going to end up looking like? If so, I don't wanna evolve. And someone on another board was discussing John's costuming and they mentioned his old IASA suits. Is this eppy the last time we see either the orange jumpsuit and/or the khakis? I can't remember seeing either since really.

That was me in the other thread. I mean, after all, Crichton was up on Farscape on a "three hour tour," so to speak. Where did he come up with all the other clothes with IASA patches on them?

Now I don't want to get off on a rant here but... This is how I see him having all those clothes from the get-go. First he's on the shuttle at the beginning of Premiere and is wearing his khaki pants white T-shirt and khaki vest and jacket both with the IASA patches. Then he gets into the Farscape 1 module and is wearing his regulation blaze orange jumpsuit with the IASA patches OVER his khakis. Those are the only two distinct "outfits" I remember him having from the beginning.

Sweet jesus on a barbecue skewer.. Around the time they showed this they also had the Snooker championships thing on.. so my timetale was all messed up.. so you can believe i missed this the firt time round.. (atleast thats my excuse, but missing Farscape is inexcusable) This was ace.. i loved the way that only the less intelligent, more emotional critchon, undertood what had to be done.. and he fixed it all.. and the future critchon was a 'tool'.. plain and simple.. Lets all de-volve!!

Humm, well I can’t say that this was my favorite episode this season but it was still pretty good. In the first season I could see Crichton reacting differently to this whole ‘multiply me’s’ thing. I guess after so many people have been screwing with his mind he’s getting sick of aliens and science projects though. He's stopped getting trying to get in touch with his explorer side. One thing that surprised me about this episode was that John was actually willing to kill his neanderthal third. I would have pictured him throwing Futuro in the bubble first just because future boy got on his nerves. As John said at the end of this episode, “...it's possible. That's the problem.” I’m glad Crichton didn’t turn out that way. Instead he went psycho, but at least he still cared about his friends. ![]() I’m still trying to figure out why Chiana was so surprised that John was willing to give himself up for the rest of the crew. After all, both he and D’Argo put themselves on the line in ‘Family Ties’. Hasn’t she figured out that he looks out for the people he cares about. I guess that concept remains foreign to her. Chiana and neanderthal Crichton were good together. After seeing ‘Beware of Dog’ I’m wondering why the real John didn’t try to communicate with him. After all, neanderthal man seemed to have a better idea of what was going on than the other two Crichtons did. I loved the show down between braniac and regular John in the end. The exchange between the two of them was great! I don’t see how Futuro would think the rest of the crew would let him remain alive if he stayed though. After all, he would have killed their Crichton, and knocked out Aeryn. Doesn’t he realize he would be toast?

This maybe a Rant After I've seen this ep for a second time I really got John's ending speech. It also helped that I read "Edgar Rice Burroughs The People Time Forgot". In that book their's a point where the hero discribes the modern world. The people just can't seem to grasp the idea of an Army. Their warrior groups mainly hunt having one that fights other people all the time dosen't makesenseto them. The hero dosen't try to explain the World War. The primative John wasn't smart yet he didn't need to think about helping people. The Middle John and Futro had to. Futro being the most conseeded. So the question is so we really evolving. ZachWZ
