The Delvians trick Zhaan and the crew into visiting their planet (by first giving the guys wet dreams about their former ladies) (Crichton to Rygel: "Wives. Plural? Big fellah!).

When they arrive on the planet we find out a few new things. First, the other Delvians have blonde hair, eyebrows, make-up, and (inevitably) wear wonderbras. They also perform Unity with one another (the sharing of souls and minds) reularly, for pleasure.

And Zhaan's secret about her people is revealed: they, as a natural way of their people, move toward rage and violence to such an extent, they go mad (and their eyes turn red).

The Delvians want Zhaan to perform Unity with them because she of all Delvians has gotten past the madness and her former life of rage. But after one performance of Unity with their leader, Tahleen, Zhaan is again taken over by the rage and madness. It takes Unity with John to bring her back.

And this epy contains my favorite lines:

Crichton: Hey! Those are my underwear!
Aeryn: (looking at the tag in the back) What does this say?
Crichton: Calvin.
Aeryn: Then they're not yours.

It seems that rage and its end results are not only a problem for humans . . .

David Kemper strikes again! I think he likes messing with Crichton's mind as much as ours.

I was pretty confused at the very beginning of this eppy... John with another human? Until I realized it was a dream... of sorts.

The originality of the Delvian's summons was obvious, and we got to see how really devious they can be. I'm sure the Hynerians are even more devious, but these people are supposed to be religious. Who's religion condones the kind of trickery these Delvians used? It verged on the torturous.

Poor D'Argo chased "his son" all over Moya while Rygel thought he was even smaller than he already is. Aeryn's not quite as pathetic with her "I don't know how to do anything" affliction. I think it's more frustrating for us than it is for her.

This is the eppy where I got the quote that seemed to stump everyone in my abandoned game: "Crichton is always confused." D'Argo had a point, but only a bit of one, since everyone was thrust into confusion in this one. :alienooh:

And poor Zhaan was really put through the ringer. "Help us and we'll help you," my a**! I hated Tahleen from the moment we met her on Moya's view screen. :angryfire But I loved the Unity effects. And I loved that John's compassion saved Zhaan. It helps make Dream a Little Dream's tag understandable later.

All this made me wonder why Zhaan wanted to go back to Delvia so badly though... was it to find her dad? To finish what she started? To free her people from the PKs?

You guys have any ideas?

Home is home, pretty much, no matter who you are.

I have been told that the actress that played Crighton's girlfriend is a well-known soap star. I don't watch the soapies, so I don't know who she is.

It was interesting to watch the "rage" issue for the Delvians be explained in greater detail.

I think they were still finding there feet in this one, but it was (of course) very well done. On a scale of one to ten (with Family Ties being the ten) I'd give this one a seven. It's strong and has lots of important information, but all the stuff happening on Moya is pretty... lame seems kind of harsh, but it's just not as good as the rest. I think this is one of Claudi's weaker episodes, but Ginny and Ben rocked!

I just saw this ep. on reruns a few weeks ago, and remembered how much I loved it. Zhaan is a great character, and the writers were able to give her a lot of depth, without ruining all of her mystique. Seeing her interact with others of her race was great, but the best scene were between her and Crichton.

I've really liked the exchanges between John and Zhaan. They seem to understand each very well, and I wish we could see more interaction like this.

I agree. It is two real extremes in their way of being. When joining their "little mutiny," Joihn learned how to pick up a gun, while Zhaan worked even harder at keeping the peace she had found. And yet they are also two very alike minds in that both are scientists.

and . . . if all the other Delvians have hair and eyebrows, why can't Zhaan/Virginia Hey were she to return? :naughty:
