Nope, haven't seen the Drum ep, yet. I will later, though. Now, I'm REALLY looking forward to it! Thanks for the great review.

About Freya...she does have style!

Cool

I am soooooooooo looking forward to seeing that ep. The last ep I saw was about Rommies sister. It was depressing. the ep should have been called no tears cause that was a huge theme of the ep. I can't figure why she hadn't killed the ship years earlier if she felt that bad. I'm not into opera that much but I thought it was interesting how she compared her "life" to that one opera.

The Mathematics of Tears (spoiler)

I'm not sure that it matters exactly why Jill couldn't suicide her ship after killing her captain, but then it really isn't clear why the Flying Dutchman couldn't say to hell with the curse and set sail for the Riviera to cruise for chicks with the Antient Mariner, or why Moses had to wander in the wilderness for forty years. It seems to me that she was under a curse beyond rational explanation--for her--and that was what was tormenting her soul. After Double Helix I was so disappointed in Attack of the Frog People that Mathematics of Tears and Music of a Distant Drum (I think that's the title) were not just great in their own right, but personal assurance to me from the universe that this series is moving into a realm inhabited up till now by perhaps ten Star Trek episodes total (from all four STs), the episode of Buffy in which she and Angel lose a day of happiness that they will never recover, or most of the television Highlander episodes, or the Iliad and the Odyssey for that matter. Fan is from fanatic, and I embrace the label like a lion greets the sunrise (as Nietzsche once put it).

Talking LOL!

Interesting comments.

I guess if people went around asking why all the time they'd come up with answers like that.

Cool That lovely fishergirl of the Pines

is Kevin's wife! She also played Sara, Dylan's wife...and Hercules' wife (can't remember the name, there).

Can't miss those teeth, eh? They are unique! Pretty, but unique.

Anyway, it was a pretty good ep (Distant Drum), really enjoyed the cavalry showing up. Wish (still) that Dylan would START RECRUITING more than just 5 scruffy crewmembers...

Recruiting

You're right about the recruiting, Lisaine, but I'm willing to bet the the economics of the studio don't permit it yet. The Than seem to be signing on to the Commonwealth pretty swiftly (remember Respendent Dawn never abandoned ship). And who knows? There could be a Nietzschean pride out there waiting for the Andromeda that is descended out of Sarah by Khalid.

Whatsername is Kevin Sorbo's actual wife? That is good. That will make for a stronger series, although I hope she gets a continuing character. She is very good. She played Sarah? I missed that entirely. Are you sure? Amazing what a different hairstyle and makeup will do. I had no idea at all.

Smile it's the teeth

that give it away completely! I used to watch Hercules (simply because it came on before Xena) and remember her from the Golden Hind eps. She was just so pretty!

What I couldn't get over was that fake nose from Distant Drum!!! Wow! Looked pretty real, until I realized who was under it!

Ok, I have to admit, I didn't check the credits...my DH was watching with me and he zoomed through everything that wasn't actual show. So, if I'm wrong (but I don't think I am), I just have to say...she has IDENTICAL teeth! LOL

Sara's teeth and fake noses

Sorry, Lisaine. Yvaine's nose is probably real. Sara was played by Sam Sorbo. That's correct, but Yvaine was played by a woman named Linnea Sharples. I don't know what else she's done, but I'm sure she was lovely while she was doing it.

MY GOD! They have the SAME teeth!! And the same lips! Maybe they're related...

Astonishing, either way...

And thanks for doublechecking for me!

I don't know about you but if I suddenly had the Ideal life I wanted and it got destroyed I'd be sad too. I understand but don't get why he took off his double helix band. I mean from his point of view I can see him taking it off but I wouldn't have... But I'm not a nieztian. It totally rocks that we know for sure the show will last a year at least.

Hi, this is my first time on the site. I don't think that Tyr expects Freya to remain married to him which is why he removes the band. He feels he has lost that coveted role of Husband and Father. Considering how important that is to Nitzcheans one could understand why he would cry. But I'll comfort him...

Cool Re: Re: Re: in D&D terms, what is he?

Bene Gesserit said that she'd comfort him...so, I say:

Well, it's not really logical OR in her best interests (in Tyr's opinion) to remain married to him. It's very sad, though.

And I personally wouldn't want him that way...on the rebound and all. I'd want him to be mine, all MINE! LOL

Question aliens under one's name?

How, when and exactly why would someone get an alien (or three) under one's name?

Well you already have one. You get em by the number of posts you accumulate. I have three cause i had 250 posts the more the posts the more the aliens. The number system is posted in the, "How many posts for third Aien", Thread started by Annette.
