I love that bit too! This ep is very cool, esp Danny's bits when he's listening in on everyone! Forget the science guys, just enjoy a good ep!

Crystal Skull

This is an old espisode but i have a question. Are the aliens that sg-1 is transported to see ever mentioned again? And is daniel's grandfather ever mentioned again? Because i would think that these aliens would become good allies of Earth.

In general, (wherever this thread ends up ), the people we meet in an episode are left alone after that. Well, probably more are never seen again than re-appear. I think. Hmmm - time for statistical analyis I think...

I talked to Jan Rubes, the actor, whitch played Nicolas Ballard (and he is Czech, as me ;-)

...so, Rubes said that producers are goin' to make another episode with "giants" and him, but in spoils for 7 season, there is NO Nic Ballard ;-(

Someone mentioned earlier, the fact that Daniel could pass through walls, but didn't fall through the floor... I noticed something rather interesting...

After Nick has been showed to his room in the SGC, I'm sure Daniel is leaning aginst the wall! I don't have it on video, so I can't double check, but it looked like he was.

Just looking at the DVD:

In the interview room at the pysch hospital, Daniel definitely DOES look like he's leaning on the wall in the corner.

When Nick is taken to the SGC, and is shown the skull in the lab, when Daniel enters he stands with his left arm laid on the top of a PC monitor.

Shortly afterwards, as Sam and Jack enter the lift (and think he may be around) Daniel stands leaning against the wall.

Finally, yes, as you say, as Teal'c shows Nick to his VIP room, Daniel is standing against the wall.

I just watched this ep for the first time, and I found it to be an enjoyable ep, even in my half-asleep state A lot of the points brought up make a lot of sense...Daniel leaning against the wall being the main one I'm wondering about. And the walking on the ground thing, although it would have been just *slightly* strange if Daniel fell through the ground to the centre of the earth after he fell back from being engulfed in that radiation thing Maybe it's best he stayed on firm ground!

Gotta love that infirmary scene with Jack calling Janet a Napoleonic Powermonger, then falling out of bed, and then Teal'c picking him up and just dumping him back! Plus Daniel's comments to Rothman.

'That's it Rothman, be skeptical...no, not that skeptical!' And just Daniel's comments the whole way through, I thought they were delivered in a really funny way.

Okay, this turned out way longer than I expected, so I'll end there!

Does anyone have the... ok how do ask for this?... the foreign translation thing to "the enemy of my enemy is my friend"? I couldn't find it anywhere on the net.

Chalk up another "must make sequel" for Season 8! Unless one of the 3 Season 7 episodes ends up being a sequel to this.

Also, isn't there Mayan/Aztec references in The Tomb? So, what...did the Goa'uld copy a Deity that was created by ANOTHER alien or something?

I've been wondering the same thing...if I ever find it, I'll post it somewhere, 'cause every time I watch this episode I try and pick up on it, but I never quite get it...

And I'm not sure about Mayan/Aztec references in The Tomb...there may have been...damn, I'll just have to re-watch the episode and check!

Over the weekend I was watching something on the History channel about mysteries. One of the mysteries was "the crystal skulls". (13 of them, actually). They mentioned "Belize" and that when people looked into the skull they felt "hypnotized". The pictures of the real skulls are the same pictures that Daniel is showing the team during the briefing at the beginning of the show. I thought that was really cool that they took something real like this and used it for a story. Not all 13 of the skulls have been found yet, but the legend says that when all 13 are put together "something will be revealed". Has anyone else heard about this?

Here is one of the sites that I found on this subject:

Try "The Mystery of the Crystal Skulls" by Chris Morton and Ceri Louise Thomas. I think they also made the TV show, according to the stuff in the front of the booK!
