| MythingLink This is one of the episodes that I've watched numerous times. I love it when they do things to bring out the emotions of the characters the way they did in this episode. We get to see them all as human beings and not just some static warrior or scientific type. We get to see how they are going to respond to the 'real' death of one of their own and how deeply they are going to be affected by it. Nem was a great addition to the 'aliens' that SG1 have run into and it would be nice to see him again and to see how he is coping with his knowledge of the death of Omorroca. I think Daniel showed an awful lot of fortitude in going through with Nem's way of retreiving the information even knowing that it could 'damage' him. All in all, one of my favorites. | RangerOne SG13 SOR Well the main alien character was the partner of a mythical Babylonian legend from over a millenia ago yet he hadnt bothered his ass to go find her in all that time?? Like u said before about Daniels memory extraction hehehe oh dear how unlikely is that apart from extremely. He makes no mention of others like him so whats his role in his society? and if he has none then whats he been upto for so long?? The mind conditioning was top rate very good but it covered a frail plot trying to link Babylonian mythology into Stargate. Am I being picky ? ;P ---------- "you want sarcasm, pleased to meet ya" |

This episode was one of my faves from S1, not cos of any Babylonian mythology but cos NEM was a really cool alien I thought, a future ep. with a whole race of NEM would be really good. Also, it is one of the few episodes where they actually go outside on Earth - To Jack's House (I think) and to Daniel's apartment rather than just bumming around in the SGC. 8/10?

Certainly there is a concept of there being more of the race - though this is not confirmed: they could be the last of the species. But - they left in such a way that going back is plausible.

I have just finished watching this ep.........first time for ages..........and I'm just wondering if those military folks who were at Daniel's rememberance were the real deal they had drafted in to be extras. Their actions were so precise and crisp I wouldn't be surprised if they were. Any opinions? I really like a wet Daniel ........... where did I put that fluffy towel??? Now let me help you out of those wet clothes, you poor thing!!!!

another of my fave S1 eps -- i love the 'conditioned responses' and the emotional interaction of the characters - and did you notice, that this is one of the 'alien' pieces of 'technology' that worked on Teal'c? even he was affected by the 'altered' memories -- Tho, this is a bit reminiscent of that ep of ST:TNG where something similar happened (can't recall title) - the aliens came to 'investigate' the crew of the Enterprise, but didn't want the Ent crew to know about them, so, they altered their memories and Data was ordered to now speak of the incident -- however, still a good episode --
