Now, not one of my most favorite espisodes, but enlightening and insightful nonetheless. Some explosions, techical jargon, and moral issues addressed in the plot of the storyline. Also, the the evolutionary model expressed as the origins of life. I don't think that it deserves 5/5 or 4/4 simply because it was slow moving and not as quickly paced as some other episodes. I will not ignore the effort the actors and producers put into the show, but am critiquing the actual story of the episode. I believe this episode develops the Teal'c charther. It also develops the nature of the secrecy of the mountain. Remember again that this is one of the first 10 episodes ~ many storylines and character developments haven't surfaced. out of five, I'll rate it 3.25/5 An episode worth watching.

If only for the exchange: Daniel: Jack! (noticing Jack's scratched shoulder) wow, what happened to you? O'Neill: Oh, I - got in a little wrestling match with Carter. Daniel: Why? O'Neill: I guess she's got whatever Johnson's got. Had to drag her off to the infirmary. Daniel: What, did she start a fight with you, like Johnson did with Teal'c? O'Neill: No, she, uh - tried to seduce me. Daniel: Oh. You........ poor man.   Best wishes, Hatshepsut  --

yes another massive shipper here. I agree that season one of the 5 so far has some of the best eps. I Love Jack & Sam moments of course, but I particularly liked the caring interaction between Jack & Janet in this ep. It's only a brief moment & a tender touch but I think it spoke volumes about Jack's character.
