RangerOne SG13 SOR

The most important race is going to be the one that has the greatest impact on all the other civilizations. This has to be the Tau`ri. Although the Nox and tollans show their strengh thru their technology I dont actually believe they have the capability or the stomach for a fight. The Nox defend themselves with stealth/cloaking technology which would be useless against the goa`uld if they found a way to detect them. The Tollans are another race who have kept themselves hidden from the goa`uld and if found probably couldnt defend themselves either in the long run. The Tokra are a small group of Goa`uld terrorists and I say Goa`uld because my gut tells me that once the system lords have been deposed they will try to enforce their own "Galactic Order" and we will become their Jaffa or Jafaa however u spell it (duh)
Out of all the other races (except the Asgard) non possess the technology or the background to challenge the Goa`uld or any other enemy force.

That just leaves the Tau`ri but even their luck is gonna run out especially if the American Government insist it remains a USA only project, but then they have always done that since WW2.

Send the Brits in hehe thats what I say... "get our cousins over the pond out of a sticky wicket then back to the mess for kippers and tea"

i think that season 4 has a development along similair lines though

I would assume that the US hasnt told the UK about the StarGate on the basis that the few who know the less likely for leaks (their track record so far aint so good while just keeping it a US secret). Though, if the Russians know then I can see how the UK doesnt know....Even If they dont find out through intel gathering on the Yanks surely they must know thru spying on the "Rooskies".
Until the US finds themselves in bind where they need some sort of expertise (ie Carter doesnt know) than they dont have and the UK has their hasnt be a reason to let the Brits in on the secret.

Well we've yet to see where they are going to take the Russian thing. They may decide that they need to start informing the other 'allies'. Right now it's just Air Force and Marines. Which makes me wonder when they are going to start bringing in the other branches of the US Military.
For now though, I think it's a matter of numbers. The less involved, the less we'll have to worry about what kind of an impact the different nations are going to make on Gate travel. Every country is going to have it's Maybourne's out there and they really don't want that. Then there is always what would happen if Egypt found out. Would they demand the return of the Stargate since it was found on the Giza plateau and be considered an antiquity?

Thor

The Asgard are going to be the most important Race in STARGATE, Because the Asguard arbitraited the treaty between the System Lords and Earth.
Also SG1 Saved Thor's Life when the Spiders attacked, So you can imagine how much gratitude Thor has for SG1 and Earth.

Thor does hold alot of weight with his people, I would imagine that his people, Once the Spider bug threat is over will protect Earth from any more attacks from the System Lords.

but yes i agree they will be very important. I think when we meet the other races from the "torment of tantulus" ep that they will also play a more major role.

Yeah I keep wondering when we're going to meet the Furlings and if the Ancients are ever going to put in an appearance somewhere along the way. It would be interesting.

I think the anicents will come in in the last season they will save it till then.

Furlings i recon will be in series 5.

Aren't you in possession of a goa'uld? Aren't goa'ulds snakey as well as sneaky? Gosh! They you can vote any way you want! Even for yourself and your goa'uld race!
