Soundtracks

Soundtracks to books are becoming pretty popular. They are pretty interesting and very creative, in my opinion. Some that I have heard of:

Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
Wheel of Time
Lord of the Rings - there are various albums, I like the one by John de Meij (especially the song 'Hobbits').

Re: Soundtracks

I launched a soundtrack to my "Chronicles of Empire" in 2001.

It was number 1 in the classical charts at mp3.com for about 10 days in June 2002. Over 2 years it accrued around 130,000 plays.

I'm planning to upload it onto the chronicles-network - - - along with the follow up CD.

All for free download, of course.

Re: Soundtracks

PS - I didn;t actually realise that anyone else had done it. Do you have any links so I can hear it?

Re: Soundtracks

Of those CD's that I listed?

Well if you have a good internet connection you can download them from Kazaa, etc.

Amazon.com has some good clips of certain songs too.

Re: Soundtracks

Here's an interesting bit of info (well - I think so anyway).
I settled down the other night to watch Bela Lugosi as Dracula (again!!)
and (call it fate?) I touched the wrong button on the remote and found myself in the extras menu. Here I discovered a completely new soundtrack for the film (composed by Philip Glass, performed by the Kronos Quartet). Despite it almost seeming like heresy, I watched the film with this new music and the effect was absolutely amazing - giving the film a whole new ambience (and a much deeper sense of menace). A good example, I thought, on how a soundtrack can not only affect the visual side of things - but our very mood whilst watching.
