Re: Crossroads of Twilight (WoT Book 10) I recently found Crossroads of Twilight in hardcover and at a good sale price so I bought it. I am only about 50 pages into it but I am finding it to be more work then enjoyment. Too much rehashing, just get on with the story please. Why make the reader work to read the story, I don't get that at all. I find this sort of like some of the Massive Multiplayer Online Game developers theory that a player should have to work to succeed and very often the work is boring. Instead make the work fun and then everything is good, even the part leading up to the payoff. It almost seems like Jordan himself does not know he is doing this with this story. A twelve book story may be too long even for an author of his obvious talents. I won't put the book down, nor will I stop reading this series before I reach the end, but getting there could be more enjoyable then it is proving to be. Rahl

Re: Crossroads of Twilight (WoT Book 10) Rahl you will find the whole book like this ...... sorry to disappoint. All it basically did was further continue other plots without providing any type of resolution (or action). Hopefully the next book will be better.

Re: Crossroads of Twilight (WoT Book 10) Its hard to believe how poor this book actually is. I thought Winter's Heart was poor with the only significant thing being, Rand cleaning the floor err..male half of the One Power. However comparing this to GRRM's ASoIaF is not really fair to Mr. Martin, at least ASoIaF is still a good story. I would rather Jordan took 4 or 5 years per book then to turn out this trash. The chapters with Elayne are so boring I just started to skip them entirely. Not only that I have found many mistakes in this book, poor writing, poor editing, no emotion in the story what so ever. The best chapters are the ones with Perrin but even that part of the story is now seeming to drag on for no good reason. Either kill Faile of have her rescued! Please! This is very sad and if he does not redeem himself with the last two books I doubt I would want to read a new series by this author. At the very least I would wait for several reviews before I did. And how on earth this could have "New York Times Best Seller" on the cover is beyond me. Did it get there from the good books in the series? I suppose it did. Rahl

I started getting really annoyed with the whole Perrin-Faile storyline. At first I thought Perrin was great, but the more Faile took over I realized that I couldn't stand her, and his obsession with her was making him a lunatic. Now Mat is pretty much the only character I can stomach. ![]() | |

Re: Crossroads of Twilight (WoT Book 10) yeah, Mat's cool it'd be better if he went schizo 'cos of all the voices/past lives he's experiencing, though. I want to see him go up against Rand in a fight - two ta'varen (sp?) mano a mano ![]()
