| Re: Hugh Jackman as Roland? After seeing Viggo in THE PROPHECY and HISTORY OF VIOLENCE... I can imagine he has the darkness needed to play Roland. Hugh Jackman is good at doing the Clint Eastwood impression, but he is too cuddly. |

| Re: Hugh Jackman as Roland? I think that in a few years Johnny Depp would be perfect. In the 7th book, Irene ? the women who drives Roland from Maine to New York imagined that he looked like a cross between a quaker and a Cherokee. I think that Depp fits that description. Viggo would also be great. Jackman would be very low on my list. I thought that he was ok as Wolverine, but I haven't liked him in anything else. I don't think that he is believable as a killer. |

Roland: Nathan Fillion Eddie: Alan Tudyk And th best casting ever: Susannah: Gina Torres As for whther it should be a movie or TV series, that's easy. Take a look at the Harry Potter films and how much of the sourse material was cut out to make the story fit. To the point where some story elements just didn't make sense unless you'd read the books beforehand. Having two or three seasons worth of shows to tell the story at the right pace, however, would be ideal. And with television effects these days being nearly indistinguishable from some movies, you really don't need the cinema budget to do the books justice visually. | |
