| Re: Ice and Fire World Book No. It's simply 'The World'. The people of Westeros haven't even come up with the idea of there being other planets yet (the other seven worlds of the star system are simply called the 'seven wandering stars'), so there is no need for a name.
The naming of Westeros (the western continent) and Sothoryos (the southern continent) has led to some concluding that the remaining continent should be called 'Easteros', but this hasn't been adapted yet (thankfully).
The planet is sometimes called 'Martinworld'. GRRM has said that it is somewhat larger than Earth, but he hasn't decided how much larger. He has said that Westeros is located in the northern hemisphere though. |
