I've been wishing there could be more discussion around here of one of my favorite writers, Patricia A. McKillip. She's a World Fantasy Award winner, and some of her early books (The Forgotten Beasts of Eld, and The Riddlemaster trilogy) had a big influence on the fantasy field thirty years ago. Yet her style remains unique and her stories never fit neatly into any of the fantasy sub-genres.
So I'm going to suggest her latest book Od Magic, which just came out this summer. |
