So Martha having a crush on him was totally unbelievable, because she'd hot, he's not, making it creepy. So Donna works better because the creepy goo-goo eyes Neema was forced to make at Tennant isn't going on.
I still prefer Billie Piper and the first (new series) Doc. They worked fine. He had a wired quality Tennant's perpetual exophthalmic expression's a poor substitute for, and as someone who lives in the Colonies I loved Piper's delicious working-class accent and her sturdy peasant beauty. Interesting that apres Doc she's been working in BBC costume dramas as an upper-class or therabouts heroine. |
