Re: The Names Database

Thanks to those of you who've tried it out so far and find it useful.
Glad to be of service.

Teresa, I'll drop you a PM.

Re: The Names Database

Well there we have it, unfortunately mac users won't be able to use this tool.
Sorry everybody. If I ever find a solution I'll let you know.

Re: The Names Database

Is it possible to add to it? I'd love to be able to customize it My vision is that people who have the database can add names and meanings and share it with other users Probably not doable... ah well.

Re: The Names Database

There's a "notes" section where you can write additional details about a name but no facility to add any in this version. But it's easy enough to add in. I'll do the code and drop a post in here when the new version is available.

Re: The Names Database

I've written a small web-base role playing / adventure game and I'm currently extending it a bit.

I was looking for a piece of code to automatically generate non-player character names, but found this thread in stead.

Paradox 99, may I have your permission to include your name database into my software to create names as required?

Regarding the mac issue - have you written the database using access or visual basic? If you've used access, you might be able to port it relatively easy to access for mac. If you've used anything else, you'll need a re-write unfortunately.
