So, one little "what if" can be expanded to a novel? I can generate four or five "what if"s in an hour (fortunately I normally manage to integrate several into one story; my muse is claiming cruelty and overwork already)
Once one has mapped out where one minor modification can lead, there's still all that 'getting words into the computer' time, not to mention the 'prune out the deadwood' and 'try and get it read' time, and… |
