But I see no reason why this couldn't be accomplished with a sisterson.(unless Arya and Sansa both meet fates that preclude children, and I don't think they will both die) This gave me the impression that Rickon had some other/additional part to play in resolving the story.
However, saying Rickon is included as the last scion of House Stark makes much more sense than any of my crazy theories, and makes me worry for the lives of Arya and Sansa. Or maybe GRRM just wants a son of Eddard to inherit Winterfell, and the girls are safe.
Edit: And yes, Jaime is awesome. I think it is because he does what he thinks he should, and not what anyone else thinks is right. |
Going by tradition, in the Seven Kingdoms (With the exception of Dorne) Bran and Rickon would supercede Sansa and Arya to the Lordship of Winterfell. That doesn't necessarily mean ill will befall the girls (although I'm rather bored with Sansa).
I'm beginning to like Jaime because he's finally realizing how bad he's screwed up...the revelaion that he'd become the Smiling Knight instead of Ser Arthur is beautiful
