I like voting for a specific candidate to represent my district and 51% of the vote to win is the rule here (we have run-off elections to insure it locally) so those ideas seem fine to me. However, compulsory voting like they have in Australia seems to me to be barking mad. I don't care if they can vote for none of the above or Donald Duck; I simply do not want people who do not care enough to vote without being coerced deciding my fate. Here you can write in a candidate or skip an item so if you don't like any of the candidates for one of the offices, you have a remedy. How the other changes would work with your parlimentary system I don't know but, manditory voting is a bad idea anywhere.
