Nope didn't know Father Ted. I was a sheltered child.

And I was only razzing you Brian. I don't think I have ever seen you come so close to using bad language before... it was shocking.

Re: Terms of Use

Just to clarify - typos are fine, and we're not turning chronicles over to the grammar police.

It's simply where someone joins and all they post is 1 line text messages. I really don't think that's suitable for this sort of environment, and needs to be discouraged.

By the way, about to buy my first house, and also probably about to spend a stupid amount of money expanding chronicles - so maybe I'm a little more on edge than normal.

Which is too bad, because I've got the uniform and a wicked truncheon…

If you ever change your mind, Brian, you let me know.

Re: Terms of Use

Carlotta, I am the worse speller on this site... it's not the spelling that offends people, although I have with my spelling. It's the txt messages that we have figure out. It's uncool. We are among writers, aspiring writers, and avid readers, there's no reason to NOT TRY to spell and use good grammer. So typos are fine... missing words are normal... and you're fine!

And you don't know how long a few of us bugged Brian to get the spell checker on this site.

But it tends to feel offensive in some way, and considering we like discussing books around here it would be rude to not do your utmost to convey your point in the most polite and smooth method available.

Re: Terms of Use

my point exactly! Although apparently if the first and last letters are correct, and all the letters are present, people can read words even if the middle letters are all jumbled up.

Yes, do tell us. My mother frequently checks my various internet ramblings not for content, but to make sure I use proper grammar and spelling. I'm sure she would like to moonlight on this site. Oh, and who did you call a butt-pole?
